I know life doesn’t always allow for a whole weekend of doing exactly what you want.

Sometimes rest isn’t a full day in your PJs, binge-watching your favourite series, or having nowhere to be.

Sometimes rest looks like 5 quiet minutes with a cup of tea in the garden, feeling the sun on your face.

Sometimes it’s sitting down instead of squeezing in “one more thing”.

Sometimes it’s choosing not to feel guilty for taking a moment for yourself.

Rest isn’t lazy.
Rest isn’t selfish.
Rest is something your body and brain need. 🤍

And if the opportunity for a little pause appears… you’re allowed to take it.

You can’t run on Low Power Mode forever.

Think about it:

Phone hits 20%: Immediate stress. Drops everything to find a cable.

You hit 20%: ‘I can definitely squeeze in two more hours of emails and a Netflix episode’.

Let’s flip the script. You deserve the same care you give your screen time. Sleep is the ultimate human recharge. Without it, your memory glitches, your processing speed slows down, and your mood crashes.

Stop running on Low Power Mode.

Not sure how? Let’s chat! (Link’s in my bio, or send me a DM).

I speak to SO many people who say they struggle to switch off their brain when they’re laid in bed, either as they’re trying to fall asleep or if they wake in the night.

My first question often surprises them. ‘Do you take your phone into the bathroom with you and scroll while you’re on the loo?’. The answer is very often yes.

So what’s that got to do with sleep? Well, it’s because these days we often don’t have a moment to ourself during the day, so the only time our brain can wander is when we’re laid in bed. But of course, late at night or even in the middle of the night, there’s very little we can do about the million and one things we need to do tomorrow.

So I’d like to suggest, if this sounds like you, you try for 24 hours to NOT take your phone into the bathroom with you. Allow your thoughts to run wild (at a time of day you can probably do something about it).

If you’re going to have a go, comment 👍🏻

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let’s talk about the foundation of well-being that often gets sacrificed first for Dad’s: SLEEP.

Society tells men to grind, provide, and power through. But chronic sleep deprivation doesn’t make you a hero, it makes you vulnerable to anxiety, burnout, and irritability. To be the partner and father you want to be, you need to prioritise your own rest.

Here are 3 quick sleep wins for busy dads tonight:

1. The 10-Hour Caffeine Cutoff: No caffeine within 10 hours of bedtime so your deep sleep isn’t sabotaged.

2. The 20-Minute Buffer: Give yourself just 20 minutes of screen-free time before bed to let your brain register that the “day-shift” is over.

3. Drop the Guilt: Sleep isn’t a luxury; it’s a biological necessity.

Drop a 👍🏻 if you’re committing to better sleep this week, or DM me if you need help fixing your routine.

You aren’t failing at your job, and you haven’t lost your edge. You are sleep deprived.

When you are chronically exhausted, everything feels harder.

I work with busy professionals to help them get their sleep back on track, so they can start living, not just existing.

Stop waiting for burnout to force your hand. DM me to find out how I can help, because sleep is not a luxury.

Men’s mental health isn’t just about the conversations we have out loud. It’s about what happens when the lights go out.

We often look at stress, anxiety, and burnout as purely mental battles. But your brain can’t fight a battle it doesn’t have the fuel for.

When you consistently don’t get enough sleep:
- Your amygdala (the brain’s emotional centre) becomes more reactive, making minor stressors feel overwhelming.
- Your ability to process logic and handle daily pressure plummets.
- Anxiety and racing thoughts find an easy foothold in a tired mind.

Fixing your sleep isn’t a luxury or a ‘soft’ wellness trend. For men, taking control of your rest is one of the most tactical, high impact moves you can make for your mental fitness.

If you’ve been staring at the ceiling in the middle of the night lately, you don’t have to just white-knuckle through it. Send me a DM to see how I can help you get your sleep back on track.

If you are waiting for the perfect circumstances to start improving your family’s sleep, you might be waiting a very long time.

The secret to better sleep is not about getting every single detail right every single day. It is about making sustainable adjustments that work for your life, sticking with them, and navigating the bumps along the way.

Progress is a journey, not a destination. Celebrate the small wins tonight.

What’s one small win you’re celebrating about sleep this week? (Either for you or your child).

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room... how do my own kids actually sleep?

If you think they sleep perfectly every night just because of what I do for a living, let me burst that bubble gently! My youngest is the exact reason I got into this field—she was a certified sleep resistor back in the day.

Life looks a bit like this for my 9 and 11-year-old now: hormone surges are creeping in, they’re both fabulously ‘neurospicy’, and they split their time 50/50 between my house and their dad’s.

So no, every night isn’t textbook. But they do sleep well overall, because they understand their own bodies now.

We can’t control every variable in parenting. But we can give our kids the foundation, the skills, and the confidence to navigate sleep as they grow. And honestly? That’s worth so much more than a perfect track record.

What’s one ‘uncontrollable’ variable that’s keeping you up or disrupting your family’s routine at the moment? Let’s vent (or problem-solve) in the comments!

Let’s be honest: nobody sleeps perfectly every single night. I’ll admit I have my off nights too! Thankfully, most of the time I sleep great (perks of knowing the tricks of the trade!).

But a couple of years ago? I was dragging myself through every single day. Exhausted didn’t even begin to cover it. I was ready to book a GP appointment until it hit me: I never actually let myself rest. I was always on the go.

I felt this constant pressure to be productive. As a single mum co-parenting two neurodiverse girls riding the hormone wave (while I’m riding my own wave at the other end of the spectrum! 🤦🏼‍♀️), running my business solo, and managing the house alone... I was doing too much. Long workdays when the girls were with their dad, working late evenings when they were with me, and weekends spent in a flurry of “to-do list ticking.”

I was shattered. I wasn’t being fair to myself or my kids. It felt like I was trying to prove a point... but to who?

So, I changed the rules. No more evening work when the girls are home. I block out daily time for walks or exercise. And that perpetual to-do list? I don’t beat myself up if I only cross off one or two things a week.

These days, Easy Sleep HQ is all about boundaries and priorities. I might be a super human, but I am not Superhuman. I need to rest to be my best.

If you’re currently stuck in that exhaustion cycle, I see you.

Can you relate to this? What’s one boundary you need to put in place for your own rest this week? Let me know in the comments.

It’s Wednesday, we’re half way through the week and the fatigue is real! Let’s do a quick audit - which one of these is your biggest sleep thief right now?
- The ‘just 5 more minutes’ TikTok scroll
- The cheeky 4 pm espresso
- Solving world problems at 3 am
- Bedroom that feels like a sauna
