On 03/06/1996, I was a fresh-faced 17-year-old girl with no real direction, stepping into a nursing home as an auxiliary nurse - as we were called back then.

I had no idea at the time that the women around me would help shape not only the caring professional I would become, but the person I would become too.

They taught me strength, compassion, resilience, dignity, humour in hard moments, and the true meaning of caring for others.

Those women raised and nurtured me in healthcare, and I credit them for the work ethic, bedside manner, and commitment I still carry with me today.

Thirty years later… here I am.
And I’m still proud to care.

Do you ever feel like your mind just won’t switch off?

Constant thinking. Internal chatter. Overthinking. Feeling mentally “on” all the time.

So many of us are carrying stress in the nervous system without even realising it.

That’s why I’ve created Quiet Mind Sessions at Gaia The Wellness Temple 🤍

A gentle small-group experience designed to help slow the monkey mind, quieten internal noise and support deep relaxation through:

✨ Guided meditation
✨ Reiki healing
✨ Crystal healing
✨ Herbal tea
✨ Calm conversation afterwards

These sessions are not about anything extreme or “woo” - just a safe, welcoming space to pause, breathe,take a moment and reset.

Many people find this kind of relaxation work can help soothe the nervous system, support vagus nerve regulation and create a sense of calm and balance in both mind and body.

Gaia is situated in the Grounds of a garden centre - Flittons Nursery and was created as a calm community space for adults - somewhere people can come to slow down, reconnect, meet like-minded people and simply enjoy a sense of peace, support and community.
