Emma got in touch because she was finding her Lime & Coconut Cleansing Water left her skin feeling greasy.

The culprit? Not the cleanser but the fact it hadn’t been shaken before use.

Because the Lime & Coconut Cleansing Water contains both oils and floral waters, some separation is completely normal. A quick shake before each use helps ensure everything is evenly mixed and working exactly as intended.

It’s a tiny step, but it can make a big difference.

One of the biggest misconceptions in skincare is that if an ingredient appears on the front of the packaging, it must be doing all the heavy lifting.

The reality is often more complicated.

Ingredients are listed in order of concentration, and sometimes the ingredient being advertised is present in very small amounts.

That doesn’t automatically make it a bad product, but it does mean that marketing and formulation aren’t always the same thing.

That’s why I always encourage people to look beyond the buzzwords and focus on the full ingredient list, the formulation as a whole and whether a product is actually right for your skin.

Good skincare isn’t about chasing the latest trendy ingredient, it’s about understanding what you’re putting on your skin and making informed choices.

Things I’ve seen on skincare social media this week that I don’t understand 👀

• 14-year-olds being sold anti-ageing products

• The idea that every wrinkle needs a treatment plan

• The pressure to freeze, fill, tighten and tweak every sign of ageing

• People changing their entire skincare routine every 3 days because someone on social media told them to

• The pressure to constantly “optimise” your skin instead of simply looking after it

Maybe I’m showing my age, but I still think skincare should help you feel comfortable in your skin, NOT convince you that there’s always something wrong with it.

What have you seen on social media recently that made you go 🤨?

There’s literally nobody stopping me 😅

For some reason I used to wait until right before bed to take my makeup off.

Meanwhile I’d spend the entire evening wishing I was already clean, comfortable and in pyjamas.

Now?

The second I get home:
✅ The makeup comes off.
✅ The bra comes off.
✅ The comfy clothes go on.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who does this 😂

I’ve spent years thinking I needed a dramatic solution to feel less stressed. A new planner, routine, app, morning ritual.

But lately I’ve realised that the things helping me feel calmer are actually pretty boring.

Beach walks. Books. Fresh bedding. Less scrolling. A cup of tea: Small things that gently remind my nervous system that everything is okay.

Twelve years ago, if you’d told me White Rabbit would still be here, I’d have laughed.

Back then it was just me, a tiny galley kitchen, a handful of products and a belief that skincare didn’t need to be complicated to be effective.

There were no investors, no big team, no marketing agency (and certainly no massive ads budget…).

Just a determination to create gentle skincare for people whose skin was tired of being overwhelmed.

Twelve years later, we’ve packed thousands of orders, answered countless customer emails, celebrated some incredible highs and navigated some *very* difficult lows.

And through all of it, one thing hasn’t changed:

Our belief that skincare should feel kind, simple and supportive.
