Since launching our 'Take a Break Project' in 2019, Natural Breaks have proudly watched this initiative grow and benefit hundreds of our people & their families.

Take a Break has provided so many opportunities to our communities, more than we ever thought possible!

From starting out with day trips and short caravan breaks, we now offer training and development opportunities, creative workshops, group activities and much more. We're helping the people we support to build their confidence and life skills as well as developing real, genuine friendships and connections 💜

Thank you to EVERYONE who have supported the Take a Break project over the years, including continuing to do so today. We wouldn't be able to do this without you!

We love seeing the memories that are being made at Natural Breaks.

National Walking Month takes place every year, throughout May. What better time for Paul and Anthony's walking group to kick off their first walk of 2026 🚶🏻‍♂️

The group headed to West Kirby and walked along the Marine Lake, before stopping for a well-deserved, and much needed, ice cream.

Reflecting on their first event of the year, Paul shared: "It's been great. Hopefully we'll get a few more people at the next walk but we've had a good day".

Our infamous duo are planning their next walk for June and more details will be announced soon 👀

On Saturday, Natural Breaks headed to Anfield Stadium to watch the LFC v Arsenal women's football match ❤️

Our reds had a fantastic day together, cheering and rooting for their team.

Last week, Natural Breaks attended the National Mencap Liverpool Health Community Conference with Liverpool & Sefton

On the day, we were able to hear from a wide range of organisations across health and social care, including Mersey Care Learning Disability Team, CAHMS, SWAGGA and SeeAbility 💥

Self-advocates and members from Mencap shared their lived experiences around annual health checks, labels, language and being incorrectly coded, at the event too.

Throughout the day, all attendants were able to be part of the conversation through live polling and quizzes, which kept the event interactive and engaging ✨

The biggest lesson we took away from the day was that people with disabilities face stark health inequalities and in order to change that, we must work together.

Thank you to and Mencap Liverpool & Sefton for hosting such an incredible event and continuing to bring people together to share good practise, and make sure we build a better future for people with disabilities 🚀

Cathy's family shared their experience with Natural Breaks and it serves as a powerful reminder for why we do the work we do.

"My mum first met Natural Breaks in 2008 and from that first meeting she felt happy and secure, as we all did, knowing our precious Cath would be well cared for. The process its self was easy, straight forward and took roughly about a week to be completed.

Due to Cath being in Supported Living, my mum is able to have some time for herself - swimming, bowling and going the gym. My mum, and we as a family, are happy in the fact that Cath will always be cared for, respected in every way and remains to be as happy as she is now".

We're incredibly grateful to the families who trust us to be part of their journeys 💜

Alison has worked alongside David and his family for several years. Reflecting on her time, she shared:

"I feel lucky to support David and be there to help him live his best life. It’s amazing to watch him achieve his goals and see him happy. A real highlight for me is getting to see David go to his local pub, mixing with the regulars, having banter with the barmaids and making new friendships.

Through supporting David, I have made lovely connections with his family. We always work together to make the biggest difference and find the best way forward. I am so happy that I get to call this my job".

Our teams develop positive relationships with families, built on trust and open communication, and feel truly privileged to work so closely alongside them.
