Appreciation | Gratitude | Humbled 🩵✨
Here comes a post full of L O V E!

Saturday 16th May at one of my favourite places I hosted a YOGATHON. At 9:15am I began practicing/teaching yoga, with very few rapid breaks I did not stop practicing until 5:45pm. I totalled 8.5 hours of practicing yoga, taught by some incredible yoga teachers…

thank you for all that you are, all that you do. You’re an inspiration like no other.

L•Aura your humour is infectious, such a beautiful being.

Rachel my dear what can I say, your uplifting, energising and totally wonderful.

Lisa your superb, so knowledgeable, grounded and fun.

Jenny your beautiful inside & out, strong, joyful and a blessing.

Vicky London I can’t quite express my gratitude to you, your simply amazing.

Sandra you are so calm, so peaceful, and full of loving energy.

Annette your such a gorgeous human being, soul connected!

I’ve so far raised just under £2000 for - what a day, thanks to all of you and beyond: my friends, family, colleagues, customers, even strangers THANK YOU 🙏🏻

I was supported in ways I could have never imagined, and I was surrounded by so many loved ones. To anyone who attended it meant the world to me.

My family who stood by my side all day, hosting the day better than I could have. I am forever grateful of you 🫶🏻

So many of my dearest came to cheer me on, and yet so many unexpected visitors to. I couldn’t name everyone without missing some of you. You know who you are, every single human being. I am eternally grateful.

Those of you who practiced with me, some of you for several hours I am honoured. And I feel so loved.

I cannot find many more words to say except

THANK YOU ✨💓

My just giving page will remain open until cash donations are paid in. So there’s still time to support. The link is in my comments for donating 🙏🏻

I did this for Parkinson’s, we find strength and resilience from deeper rooted places when we are faced with fear, challenges, and uncertainty. It’s certainly my superpower of hope & healing.

To be strong for you and for me!

Tomorrow at Planters Tamworth

Hoping for good weather 🤞🏻🌤️

ℹ️

The day starts at 9:15, the schedule of open yoga classes is listed below.

It’s an open event for you to join. Practicing yoga is optional.

Please bring any yoga equipment mats too if practicing. This event will be outdoors.

I will be practicing yoga myself for the entire event schedule. To raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s uk. All proceeds will go to the charity.

Each class will need to consider teacher swaps, we will do our best to start on time, but end times may be earlier to allow the swap overs.

All teachers are voluntarily giving there time for this event so please support their kindness.

📍

Located at planters garden centre, follow the car park to the back and I will be on the field, look for the tipi ⛺️. There will also be Parkinsons balloons and banners to lead the way.

What’s available?

There are benches dotted around. I will personally be bringing some colouring books for children.

Planters is open for all, the garden centre, cafe, restaurant, park, golf, trampolines and animals!

At my event the above is really all, my family will be dotted around to help. They will be wearing blue Parkinsons T-shirts. I will be practicing non stop but I will welcome any cheers and hello’s 👋🏻

🪣

All proceeds are for charity, donations are suggested for yoga but not obligatory. I want this to be a mindful, positive and warming event.

Buckets will be available in planters and around the event for cash donations.

QR CODES will be on posters for online donations.

Here’s the link for anybody unable to attend but wanting to support:

Why?

I have Parkinsons, I’m young and still very able bodied. I want to make a stand, move for the future and do what I love most: YOGA.

All to raise sufficient funds for a hopeful future and potential cure.

1 week to go!! 😁
We’re making some preparations 🩵

This time next week I’ll be just under half way through my YOGATHON.

A charitable day of Yoga to raise awareness of Parkinson’s, and spread the magic & excellence of movement.

I have had so many donations, so much support and a lot of conversations about the event, my diagnosis, and Parkinsons.

Thank you for helping me feel so comfortable in being so open 🩵

On the day of the YOGATHON for Parkinson’s UK, if you plan to swing by.

I will be set up towards the back of the car park on the field side, look for the tipis ⛺️!

Just bring your yoga mat, lay it down in a space and participate. That’s if you’d like to.

I’d like to think it’s going to be a very relaxed event, come and go as you wish.

I will be bringing some (basic) activities for children to do by the tipi if they need distracting whilst you’re practicing. But all children must still have another adult with them to supervise!

The outside coffee hut will be open ✨
And of course planters itself is open!

If you can kindly donate to attend that would be greatly appreciated, but please do not hesitate to attend otherwise.

This is about spreading positivity and hope, for the future of Parkinson’s.

Donations big or small, go towards brighter days, and a continued support for all with PD.

I will hopefully have some helpers with me! Look for the blue Parkinsons T-shirts 🙂

Fingers crossed for good weather 🤞🏻

M A Y > this month certainly brings changes, shifts, and growth…

When I started teaching yoga I threw myself into everything. I was filtered only by yes.

With age, commitments, responsibilities, and health issues, I have began to take care of my own sacred space.

I am making decisions that are right for me, but also my family.

My business always will be my root of foundation. The movement, the connections, the joy I get from teaching will never be beaten.

PLEASE READ ON > for announcements, changes and upcoming events 👏🏻

This month I am making amendments, and decisions, but also introducing new!!

Mondays at The Health Workshop will continue as 1 class at 7pm. I have considered an extra time, but I have decided against for the time being. This is a limited venue, bookings are essential.

Tuesdays at Rawlett Lift, the original venue…

This class has certainly been through changes, and it’s happening again. Tomorrow’s class (5th May) will be the last week of double times. As of 12th May, yoga at Rawlett will have a new time:

6:30pm - 7:30pm (from 12th May)
This will limit bookings, so it’s essential to contact me. No walk ins!

Thursdays at Wilnecote Community Lettings will continue at present with both times, 6pm and 7pm. This could be subject to change but at the moment there is no change being made.

The Belfry Hotel & Resort
Yoga here certainly feels special, so I’m adding a newbie!!

Mondays 10:30am, my traditional style, a deep overall stretch working on alinement.

Mondays 12pm, a class using props. Supportive holds, less poses. Deep relaxation but also more challenging. This class has the best of both!

Fridays 4:30pm, my classic gentle flow. A sequence moving and being lead by your breath. Calming & tranquil.

NEW coming from 10th May, Sundays 4pm. A combination of two. A supportive, breath initiated flow. Combines movement with prop support.

I’m so grateful I’m able to teach, work, provide, and still learn.

I love what I do, thank you. For always supporting me 💗

The time has come for my own challenge!
In support of my Parkinsons journey, whilst honouring others too.

I am confident
I am deeply rooted

I will need these affirmations on the 16th May! YOGATHON TIME 🧘🏼‍♀️

It’s time to spread the word and raise awareness of for 🩵

At I will be based outside on the field being taught yoga, by some incredible local teachers! There may be moments I’m self practicing, or even teaching myself.

This fundraising challenge is to represent myself, as someone with Parkinson’s. Moving my body to make a stand on the fact movement and exercise is incredibly powerful and it’s a great medicine for Parkinson’s.

Why?
Because right now I can, and I never know when this ability will be taken away from me and if it ever will. So I want to be in this magnetic moment doing what I know and love best!

To sponsor/donate me and my Yogathon the just giving page is in my instagram bio and facebook comments on posts.

In 1 month I’ll be practicing yoga for a total of 9 hours! I am nervous, excited, and praying for nice weather 🙏🏻💙😂

[16TH MAY / PLANTERS 9:15am - 5:45pm]

The why?
In late 2024 I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, I couldn’t believe it and I still can’t. But one thing that’s great for my body is to keep moving and yoga certainly helps that. It’s great for my strength, balance, focus, mood, and overall health.

I have dipped into many charitable events for but I wanted to do something for myself in a way of raising awareness and possible funds for the charity - whom are amazing to say the least 🫶🏻

Practicing yoga non stop will be challenging, no matter my experience with the practice. I wouldn’t be able to do it without the help of local yoga teachers:

Gemma - Midlands Yoga
L.Aura Yoga Reiki
Rachel - Octavia & Om
Lisa at Sole 2 Soul Yoga
Jennny - Yoga Loft
Annette Bates
Sandra - Tame Yoga

I will be outside at Tamworth, hopefully on the field but possibly the tipi. You are welcome to pop along and practice with me (some uplifting support), you could pop by and check in! If your unable to be there on the day please keep up the encouragement with your kindness, messages will be passed on to me and read once I can.

I will of course be raising funds for PUK, the page is linked in my instagram bio, and is found in the comments on this post on Facebook. There you can donate 🙏🏻✨

Heading Home!
That’s 2 weeks done, touring Scotland in our camper van - what a glorious experience it was
Classes return from Monday 13th. Mondays at the health workshop, Tuesdays at RAWLETT lift leisure centre, and Thursdays at Wilnecote high school leisure centre. I’m back at the belfry from the 13th as well!
Can’t wait for a stretch and to practice with you all again, it’s been a long time since I’ve given myself time off work to actually go on a proper holiday. It’s usually a weekend here and there, or just a week in the uk. 2 whole weeks were needed, to reset the batteries 💞
If you haven’t booked your classes drop me a message
📆 REMINDER my charitable Yogathon takes place on the 16th May I will be practicing yoga for around 8hrs straight raising awareness and funds for you can practice with me, for any of the classes, as many as you like! Or support me in any way ✨💙

Let’s chat about this monstrosity!
For the next 7 days, I am wearing this device non-stop, this is a request that’s been put forward by my Parkinson’s Nurse and Consultant.

I know, I don’t need to explain myself, but I also want to continue to be that person that speaks up. To help people understand, to give me some peace of mind, and maybe to help other people to feel at ease about their own situations.

Whatever it may be, I’m here for it 🩵💫
My brain unfortunately isn’t a sharp and connected as I’d like it to be, and with Parkinson’s and my journey I am noticing changes in my symptoms. The symptoms are lasting longer, becoming more prominent, and something that I’m starting to see not just feel. Medication can be altered with Parkinson’s which I am trying to personally do as my consultant and nurse is too. But sometimes we just need more, more information, more knowledge, more guidance.

This device is worn to track my symptoms on my dominant symptom arm, after the seven full days of wearing it I will have a follow-up appointment. My Consultant and nurse will see and understand better the flow of my symptoms and the way in which they show themselves during the course of a day, around medication, movement, any exercise, and just life in itself.

Fantastic, really isn’t it?
Besides the hideous look of it, I’m hopeful to get a little bit closer to the answer for me right now.

So if you see me waving this thing around in classes (not literally), just know that I don’t think highly of myself and think I need to own a gigantic toy watch. It is a device for Parkinson’s and me 😅. Always and forever happy to talk about me and my diagnosis, never fear away from wondering or asking me anything! I’m totally open to the conversations 🫶🏻
