Singing in community helps the participants 'chase joy'- I agree wholeheartedly!

The group brings together almost 80 people each week - they all believe they cannot hold a tune.

Delighted to have played my 'Singing Chaplain' part for Gate 42's Summer Hydration festival this afternoon, with a 'Senior Singalong' on four of the bays.
One of our Sisters commented,
"For half an hour, there's been no call bells going off- the patients have been happy and engaged!"
Singing for well being...bringing joy and releasing endorphins in both staff and patients alike 🎶🎤❤️

This crew all work in the NHS and give up their time freely! Some of us bought our hubbies to shake the buckets! Thankyou! ❤️

Do you have a passion for singing and making a difference? Well look no further! For 3 years, the MY Charity Choir has supported MY Hospitals Charity, helping raise vital funds to allow us to do more for our patients, families, staff and communities and they need you!🎊

If this sounds like a bit of you, go pay them a visit every Thursday at 12:30pm to get involved. No audition necessary, just a love for singing! All staff volunteers and supporters welcome to help fill our hospital halls with melodic music.🌟

The Palliative care journey for many can be a long road, so after collaborating with M.Y Choir and Palliative care team for 'Dying Matters week' it was wonderful to receive an invite from Wakefield Hospice.
Fantastic first 'Singing for Wellbeing' session for staff and service users at Wakefield Hospice with super feedback! 😀

Every single Thursday, M.Y. choir rocks up for the 30mins of their lunchbreak to sing!
And every Thursday in July, they've pitched up outside the main entrance to raise money for MY Hospitals Charity!
All done for the summer at the hospital, but one more event in the community mid- August. Watch this space.
