🥚💚 The Power of an Egg - Eggsactly 😂

Sometimes the simplest foods are the most nutritious.

Eggs are packed with high-quality protein and a range of essential nutrients that support health throughout life, but especially during midlife and beyond.

As women move through perimenopause and menopause, our bodies need adequate protein to help maintain:
💪 Muscle mass and strength
🦴 Bone health
⚡ Energy and recovery
🧠 Brain function
🍽️ Satiety and appetite regulation

Many women don’t realise that maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important as we age. Muscle is not just about appearance – it’s vital for mobility, metabolism, balance, independence and healthy ageing.

The good news? It doesn’t have to be complicated.

Simple, nutritious foods eaten consistently can make a huge difference over time.

At Rise & Thrive, we believe in progress over perfection.

✔ Focus on whole foods where possible
✔ Include protein at every meal
✔ Combine good nutrition with regular movement
✔ Choose foods you enjoy
✔ Do what works for you and is safe for your individual health needs

Small changes.
Consistent habits.
Long-term benefits.

💚 Move. Fuel. Rest. Repeat.

The second brain you might be forgetting about... 🧠

✨Let’s talk about gut health

✨This truly is massive for our overall well-being! Our gut is like the engine of the body; absolutely everything we put into ourselves gets processed through it.

✨This is not just about food.
It’s the way we handle stress, the quality of our sleep, and our daily mindset - they are all deeply connected to our gut.
✨They don’t call it our "second brain" for nothing!

✨If you want to feel vibrant, look after your engine it’s that simple.
We need to feed it clean, nutrient-dense foods, stay hydrated, get our rest.
✨Eat the rainbow 🌈 make sure if you’re taking a supplement it’s as clean as possible.

✨Even just one small, healthy step each day can shift your gut into a much happier state. 🌿

✨Treat your gut with love, when you look after it, your whole body (and mind!) will thank you.

💚 As a Diabetes Specialist Nurse, this message is incredibly important.

Many people think blood sugar control is all about what we eat, but our muscles play a huge role too.

Muscle tissue acts like a sponge for glucose. The more muscle we have and the more we use it, the better our bodies become at taking glucose out of the bloodstream and using it for energy.

This is one reason why strength training is so powerful.

💪 It can improve insulin sensitivity
💪 Support blood sugar management
💪 Reduce insulin resistance
💪 Help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes
💪 Support healthy ageing
💪 Maintain muscle mass during menopause and beyond

As women enter midlife, we naturally begin to lose muscle mass unless we actively work to maintain it. That’s why resistance training isn’t just about looking stronger—it’s about protecting your future health.

The good news? You don’t need to spend hours in the gym.

A couple of strength sessions each week, combined with regular movement, nutritious food, good sleep and stress management, can have a significant impact on your metabolic health.

At Rise & Thrive, we’re passionate about helping women understand the science behind healthy ageing and empowering them to make informed choices.

Small changes.
Consistent habits.
Long-term benefits.

💚 Move. Fuel. Rest. Repeat.

Always do what is appropriate for your health, fitness level and individual medical circumstances.

🌟 ARE YOU WAKING UP OVERWHELMED:

Here’s The Power of the Nightly "Brain Dump" 🌟

Midlife is a beautiful, chaotic juggling act. Between partners, kids, dogs, work, and endless schedules, it’s incredibly easy to lose sight of yourself—and your own goals, dreams and aspirations.

If you want to wake up feeling powerful, focused, and in control, the secret doesn't start in the morning. It starts the night before.

Before your head hits the pillow, grab a journal and empty your brain. I love and use the six minute journal daily 📕

🎉 Celebrate Your Wins: Write down what you achieved today, no matter how small. Shift your mindset from "I didn't do enough" to "Look what I accomplished."

🧠 The Brain Dump: Get every single to-do, worry, and schedule out of your head and onto paper. Close those open mental tabs so your brain can actually rest.
🎯 Set Tomorrow’s Intention: Define your focus before the day even begins. Wake up proactive, not reactive.

Stop letting your day run you. Take 5 minutes tonight to plan properly, get the rest you deserve, and start tomorrow strong! 💪✨

🌧️ Good morning everyone.

I was wondering what to share on this wet and grey Monday morning, and then I came across this graphic.

It really resonated with me because it highlights something I’ve learnt over the years, both personally and professionally:

💚 There is so much in life that we simply cannot control.

The weather.
The news.
The passing of time.
Other people’s opinions.
Other people’s expectations.
How others choose to behave.

Yet so much of our energy can be spent worrying about exactly those things.

What we can control is often where our power lies:

✨ How we speak to ourselves
✨ Our boundaries
✨ Our priorities
✨ Our self-care
✨ How we treat others
✨ Who we spend our time with
✨ Our responses to life’s challenges

As I’ve got older, I’ve become much better at protecting my energy and focusing on what truly matters.

That doesn’t mean life is always easy. It means I’ve learnt that peace often comes from letting go of the things I cannot change and taking ownership of the things I can.

So this Monday, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, try asking yourself:

💭 Is this in my control?

If the answer is yes, take action.

If the answer is no, perhaps it’s time to let it go.

Wishing you all a peaceful week ahead.

💚 Focus on what you can control. Let go of the rest.

June is my birthday month — 52 years young — and I’m taking on the Highlander 3-Day Expedition with Madeleine, Rebecca and Nat.

We’re raising funds for the Outward Bound Girls Fund, helping girls build confidence, courage, resilience and self-belief through adventure.

This is bigger than us. It’s about opening doors for young girls to climb high and achieve.

Please dig deep if you can — every pound, every share and every bit of encouragement helps.
