New research, conducted by academics at the University of Hertfordshire, has found that women are not always getting enough information from their midwives and antenatal classes about what to expect during induction, or the possible risks.

If only they had asked women who had a private (Independent) midwife to compare what information they are given.
Very few of my clients accept induction or augmentation once they now the facts.

This is a very sad state of affairs, so few people know what is truly happening, most of us are aware of the effects on maternity services and other services we or family and friends are needing.
decisions about care are being based on financial outcomes, not clinical outcomes, the huge increase in inductions with all the associated problems is well known and yet as service users our voices are not being heard, our concerns overlooked and our individualised care compromised.
