It's been a very stressful week ๐Ÿ˜ข

Even if you improve your relationship with food, it would be unrealistic for me to tell you that you will never overeat or turn to food for comfort again for the rest of your life

We're only human, it will happen sometimes. What matters most is how you react after it happens

Resetting quicker than before and doing what you can, even in a really stressful situation, is still progress

A lot of the fitness content we see online is so focused on how we look

Getting leaner
Visible abs
Smaller waist
Having a โ€œperfectโ€ body

And there's nothing wrong with wanting to change how you look. If that's something you want to work towards, then of course that's absolutely fine

When i first started trying work on my own fitness it was mainly for aesthetic reasons. But now, its about so much more than that

I want to still be able to get dressed up, go out with my friends, dance for hours, go for long walks, climb a mountain if I fancy it, and just be able to enjoy my life

These people I was watching are in their 70s, 80s and even 90s and they're still getting up every Saturday night and dancing like they're 20

That's the kind of fitness goal I want, actually being fit enough to enjoy my life for as long as possible

Food gets a lot harder when you're constantly having to make decisions about it

What am I having for dinner?
Have I got anything in?
Do I need to go to the shops?
What can I make with what i've got?

And then you finish work, you're tired, you're starving and suddenly you're standing in front of the fridge wondering what on earth you're going to eat!

That's where having a plan can really help

I'm not talking about planning every single meal perfectly or spending your Sunday meal prepping 14 containers of chicken and broccoli

Just having a rough idea of what you're going to eat, doing a proper food shop so you've actually got the things you need, and having a few easy options for those days when everything goes a bit wrong

Because your food plan needs to work for your actual life, not just the week where you've got loads of time, loads of energy and everything goes exactly to plan, cuz let's face it, when does that ever happen??

That's exactly why I've put together my free Food Planning Guide

It includes an example meal plan, tips for getting organised with your food shop and some easy Plan B ideas for when you really cannot be bothered cooking or your day has completely gone to s**t

If you want a copy, DM me PLAN and I'll send it over, or you can tap the link in my bio

Hi, I'm Sam

I'm a nutrition coach, a massive bookworm, a bit of an introvert and very much a fan of cosy evenings, autumn, blankets, my dog Nuala and a good cup of herbal tea ๐Ÿ˜‚

The reason I ended up becoming a nutrition coach is because of my own struggles with my food relationship

For years I was stuck in that all or nothing mindset. I'd decide I was going to be โ€œgoodโ€, and I'd stick to it for a while, then have foods I'd told myself were "bad" and think I'd ruined everything.

And once I'd โ€œruinedโ€ it, I might as well carry on eating whatever I wanted and start again on Monday right?

Sound familiar? ๐Ÿ‘€

I've been through the restricting, the constant thinking about food, the guilt and the feeling like I just needed to try harder.

So now I want to help other women who are stuck in that same cycle.

Whether you want to improve your relationship with food, lose some body fat, get fitter and stronger, or just feel a bit more in control around food, I'm here to help you do it without another ridiculous diet or trying to be perfect all the time.

Because I believe looking after yourself should fit into your actual life.

And yes, that includes the occasional chocolate bar, a cosy afternoon with a book and probably far too much time thinking about fictional characters. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ“š

So if you're a fellow bookworm with a complicated relationship with food...
you're in the right place ๐Ÿค

We've got so used to looking for the thing that's finally gonna work

And I get it, i used to be exactly the same! I've tried every diet going, but could never stick to a single one of them

The thing that finally worked was the basics
Eating regular meals
Getting enough protein and fibre
Moving my body daily
Strength training
Getting enough sleep

None of that stuff is particularly exciting though, and that's the problem...

We're constantly bombarded with new diets, supplements, challenges and hacks. Cuz let's face it, "eat some protein and go for a walk" doesn't really make a scroll stopping Instagram post now does it ๐Ÿ˜…

You don't have to try and do everything perfectly, that's just unrealistic. Find a way that you can fit the basics into your life, then do them consistently, until eventually it just becomes normal for you to do those things

I'm not entirely sure how much nutritional knowledge Nuala has actually gained while being my assistant, but she definitely seems to have this whole balanced lifestyle thing figured out ๐Ÿ˜…
