At Rewind Aesthetics LDN, I take a holistic approach to skin health, combining advanced aesthetic treatments with internal wellness support where appropriate.

One area I often discuss with clients is the connection between gut health, nutrition and skin quality.

Your gut plays an important role in:
đź’š Nutrient absorption
đź’š Digestive balance
đź’š Overall skin health and radiance

When your body is properly nourished from within, it can better support both your skin and the results of your treatments.

That’s why I offer selected wellness products in clinic, including Purity Greens 🌿 a daily wholefood blend designed to support general wellbeing as part of a healthy lifestyle.

It contains organic greens, sprouts, prebiotic fibre, and key nutrients such as zinc and vitamin C, which contribute to normal skin function and overall nutritional intake.

This isn’t about replacing skincare or treatments, it’s about supporting the foundation underneath them.

If you’re investing in your skin, it’s worth considering what’s happening internally as part of your wider routine.

Once patients try Synergie Skin NX Gen SPF, they rarely go back to anything else and honestly, it’s easy to see why.

This isn’t your typical SPF that feels heavy, greasy, chalky or pills under makeup. It’s skincare and protection in one. The formula is packed with high-strength zinc oxide for broad-spectrum UVA/UVB defence, while still feeling lightweight, calming and elegant on the skin.

Patients love it because it actually improves the way their skin looks and feels:
Calms redness and sensitivity
Gives hydration without congestion
Sits beautifully under makeup
Supports post-treatment skin
Helps protect against premature ageing and environmental damage

The antioxidant blend including green tea and lycopene helps defend against free radicals and inflammation, making it more than “just sunscreen.”

And the biggest compliment? Patients stop “trying new SPFs.” Once they find a sunscreen that protects properly and makes their skin look good every day, they stay loyal.

NX Gen SPF has become one of those products patients repurchase before they even run out — because after using it, most other SPFs just don’t compare.

DAY 2 of My first NeoGen experience — honest thoughts the morning after.

I had my first NeoGen treatment yesterday and wanted to share a genuine little update on how the night and day after have been.

Honestly, I had no pain overnight at all. My skin felt slightly tight, which is completely expected, but there was certainly no irritation, discomfort, or anything that made me feel I needed pain relief, cooling packs, or ice — even around the eyelids, which are obviously such a delicate area to treat.

I slept comfortably all night with no issues whatsoever.

These are my day 2 pictures and, as you can see, I really just look like I’ve caught a little bit of sun and have a healthy glow. There’s no significant redness or dramatic erythema, and nobody has even commented on it today.

In fact, I’d go as far as saying this is very much a “back to work” treatment. You genuinely could have this done in your lunch hour and return to work afterwards without anyone really noticing — as long as you’re sensible with your SPF 50 and avoiding direct sun exposure.

I’m genuinely really impressed so far.

I won’t bore everyone with daily healing photos, but I will probably share a little day 7 update once everything is fully calm and we’re starting to see some real outcomes coming through.

On this International Nurses Day, I just want to take a moment to recognise the dedication, compassion and skill that nurses bring to people’s lives every single day.

As a nurse prescriber working in aesthetics, being part of the British Association of Medical Nurses is incredibly important to me. It represents professionalism, patient safety, continued education and ethical practice within our industry.

In a world where aesthetics is growing rapidly, being medically qualified and accountable matters. Patients deserve safe, evidence-based treatments carried out by properly trained professionals who put patient wellbeing first.

I’m proud to stand alongside so many amazing nurses who continue to raise standards, support one another and advocate for safer practice across healthcare and aesthetics alike.

To all nurses — in hospitals, clinics, communities, care homes and beyond — thank you for everything you do. Happy International Nurses Day 💙

First NeoGen treatment done today ✨

Photo 1 is before treatment, prior to treating the full face, upper and lower eye area including lids, neck and décolletage.

NeoGen Plasma is an advanced skin regeneration treatment that uses nitrogen plasma energy to rejuvenate and remodel the skin from within. Unlike many traditional treatments, it works on the epidermis and deeper dermal structures at the same time, helping to stimulate collagen, elastin and long-term skin renewal.

NeoGen can be used for:
• Skin tightening and laxity
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Crepey skin, especially around the eyes and neck
• Sun damage and pigmentation
• Acne scarring and texture irregularities
• Enlarged pores
• Overall skin rejuvenation and collagen stimulation

One of the reasons I’m so interested in this treatment is its ability to treat delicate areas safely and effectively, particularly upper lids, under eyes, neck and décolletage — areas that are often difficult to treat well with other modalities.

One thing that really surprised me about this treatment was how comfortable it actually is. With each pulse, it just feels slightly hot on the skin. For a treatment known for such impressive skin rejuvenation and tightening outcomes, the pain scale is genuinely very low. It’s not even what I’d describe as “spicy” — completely tolerable, especially in comparison to some other device-based treatments.

As always, before introducing any new technology into clinic, I want to do my full due diligence first. That means experiencing the treatment myself so I can accurately understand exactly how it feels on the skin, properly document the downtime and healing process, and assess the recovery and treatment outcomes firsthand.

I’ll be sharing the healing journey over the next few days along with longer-term results as collagen remodelling continues. Watch this space ✨

FOB: Facts over Botox (and definitely over bu****it)

“Preventative Botox” for wrinkle-free 20-somethings? It’s marketing, not medicine.

No lines at rest = no indication. Simple.

Wrinkles don’t form just because you move your face. They come from collagen loss, UV exposure, skin quality, and time. Freezing muscles early doesn’t stop ageing it just delays movement while everything else carries on underneath.

What it does do:
→ Locks you into years of repeat treatments
→ Normalises treating a problem that isn’t there
→ Risks that overdone, slightly “off” look long-term if poorly managed

We’ve somehow gone from treating lines… to treating the idea of lines.

Your 20s don’t need injectables “just in case.”
They need:
SPF
Evidence-based skincare
Retinoids when appropriate
Consistency over hype

Treat what you can see. Not what you’ve been told to worry about.

Follow me for FOB facts, not fear.

You’re putting your face (and money) on the line—why wouldn’t you want to know what actually works? Trends come and go, but evidence tells you what’s proven, what’s safe, and what’s just clever marketing. If a treatment can’t show you real data, results, and rationale, that’s a red flag. Ask questions, understand what’s being used, and choose treatments backed by science not hype.

Q: Why has your skincare stopped working?

A: Because over-the-counter, fixed-dose skincare will only ever take your skin so far.

And here’s the part nobody really tells you…

Most “retinol”, “retinoid” or “retinal” products you’re buying are actually 2–3 conversion steps away from the active form of vitamin A your skin cells can use — tretinoin.

Each step weakens the effect.

So while they can give a glow or slight smoothing early on, they’re not working at the depth needed for real, long-term change in:• texture• cellular turnover• brightness• collagen stimulation

Even prescription-strength tretinoin takes 6–12 months to create visible, structural changes in the skin.

So ask yourself honestly…

If the strongest form takes that long — how long do you think over-the-counter skincare is really going to keep delivering results?

Sometimes it’s not that your skin has “stopped responding”…

…it’s that you’ve reached the limit of what those products can do.

Back in the early 1800s, Kerner was a German physician who started investigating cases of “sausage poisoning” (what we now know as botulism). People were getting paralysis and sometimes dying after eating contaminated smoked meats.

Instead of just describing it, he went much deeper:
• He carefully documented symptoms like blurred vision, difficulty swallowing, muscle paralysis
• He realised the cause wasn’t infection spreading, but a toxin affecting the nerves
• He even experimented (on animals and, controversially, on himself in tiny amounts)

From this, he worked out something incredibly ahead of his time:
• The toxin blocks nerve signals to muscles
• It causes flaccid paralysis without affecting sensation
• And here’s the genius bit — he suggested it could be used therapeutically to relax overactive muscles

That’s essentially the entire principle of Botox… described in the 1820s, over 150 years before cosmetic use.

Fast forward:
• 1890s: the bacterium Clostridium botulinum is identified
• 1940s–50s: the toxin is isolated and purified
• 1970s–80s: first medical uses (strabismus, blepharospasm)
• 2000s: cosmetic use explodes
