One of the things I love most about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is seeing people regain their confidence and freedom.
Recently, I worked with a lady whose claustrophobia had a significant impact on her life, particularly when travelling on public transport and flying. The thought of being confined in a plane would trigger intense anxiety and stop her from enjoying family holidays abroad.
We began by focusing on reducing stress levels through our initial sessions. By emptying her “stress bucket,” she started sleeping better, feeling calmer, and operating more from her intellectual brain rather than her emotional, survival-based responses.
Once those foundations were in place, we used the Rewind Technique to help desensitise the emotional response linked to past experiences. Following that, we focused on creating a positive future through a reframe session, where she described exactly how she wanted her ideal flight experience to be.
Last week I received the most wonderful message and photo. She was sitting on a plane with her son, smiling and relaxed. Even when the flight was delayed on the runway, she remained completely calm.
This week, a beautiful thank-you card arrived through my letterbox. Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. ❤️
