One of the things I love most about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is seeing people regain their confidence and freedom.

Recently, I worked with a lady whose claustrophobia had a significant impact on her life, particularly when travelling on public transport and flying. The thought of being confined in a plane would trigger intense anxiety and stop her from enjoying family holidays abroad.

We began by focusing on reducing stress levels through our initial sessions. By emptying her “stress bucket,” she started sleeping better, feeling calmer, and operating more from her intellectual brain rather than her emotional, survival-based responses.

Once those foundations were in place, we used the Rewind Technique to help desensitise the emotional response linked to past experiences. Following that, we focused on creating a positive future through a reframe session, where she described exactly how she wanted her ideal flight experience to be.

Last week I received the most wonderful message and photo. She was sitting on a plane with her son, smiling and relaxed. Even when the flight was delayed on the runway, she remained completely calm.

This week, a beautiful thank-you card arrived through my letterbox. Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. ❤️

I’m delighted to share that my article, From Fight or Flight to Rest and Repair: How Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Supports the Nervous System, has been published in a magazine supporting people living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

When we live with persistent pain, the nervous system can become stuck in a heightened state of alertness, making it harder for the body and mind to access the calm, restorative state needed for recovery and wellbeing.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy helps people understand how stress, anxiety and the nervous system influence their experience of pain. Through relaxation, focused attention and positive therapeutic conversations, clients can learn to reduce stress, improve sleep, build resilience and support their brain in responding differently to pain.

While hypnotherapy is not a cure for chronic pain conditions, many people find it a valuable part of their pain management toolkit, helping them regain a greater sense of control and improve their quality of life.

I’m honoured to contribute to this important conversation and grateful for the opportunity to share how hypnotherapy can support those living with CRPS and other chronic pain conditions.

Feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re failing.

It often means you’ve been carrying more stress, pressure, and responsibility than your mind and body were designed to hold for so long.

When we’re under constant stress, we can become stuck in survival mode focused on getting through each day rather than truly living it. In that state, even the smallest tasks can feel overwhelming.

The good news is that survival mode is not a permanent state. As your nervous system begins to relax and feel safe again, clarity, motivation, and resilience can return.

As a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, I help people reduce stress, quiet an overactive mind, and move forward with greater confidence and calm. By working with the brain in a positive, solution-focused way, it becomes easier to step out of survival mode and reconnect with the version of yourself that feels capable, motivated, and in control.

You don’t need to have all the answers today. Sometimes the first step is simply giving yourself permission to slow down and recover.

I’m excited to share that I’ll be speaking at the Warrington Wellbeing Festival on 11th July!

I’ve just completed my first Instagram Live with Becca, which has made me even more excited for what’s going to be a fantastic event.

Tickets are now on sale, and the festival is shaping up to be an inspiring day filled with a variety of wellbeing practitioners offering workshops, demonstrations, and experiences to support health and wellbeing.

I’m really looking forward to being part of it and meeting everyone on the day!

Rachel provides solution focused Hypnotherapy - she helps clients overcome anxiety, stress related issues, phobias and habits.

At the festival, Rachel will be sharing her story, giving a few nuggets about how the brain works and finihing off with delivering a beautiful guided relaxation also known as the trance part of the hypnotherapy session.
