🌟 HAF programme SEND Family Experiences – applications OPEN Wednesday 10 June! 🌟

We’re excited to announce that SEND Family Experiences are returning this summer as part of the HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme 🎉

The HAF programme supports children who receive benefits-related free school meals to access fun holiday activities, including a meal during each session.
We understand that standard holiday clubs aren’t always accessible for families with SEND needs – that’s why these family-friendly experiences have been created.

To apply, your child must:
✔ Receive benefits-related free school meals
✔ Be in Reception to Year 11
✔ Have an active EHCP.

Important information 📌
SEND Family Experiences count towards your total of 16 HAF activities over the summer.
You’ll be told how many experiences you can access before the main programme goes live.

Key dates:
📧 Application link will be emailed to all HAF-registered families on Wednesday 10 June.
⏰ Applications close end of day Sunday 14 June.

🚨 Please note: late applications cannot be considered, so make sure to apply on time!

Thinking about next steps after school or college? Supported Internships could be the right path!

If you know a young person aged 16–24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), a supported internship could help them take the next step towards employment.

✅ Spend most of your time in a real workplace
✅ Build skills and confidence
✅ Get support from a job coach
✅ Work towards the goal of paid employment

Supported internships are full-time, structured programmes that combine learning with hands-on experience, helping young people develop the skills employers are looking for.

Birthday events to celebrate 5 years of Warwickshire Parent Carer Voice! 🎉

Warwickshire Parent Carer Voice has been championing the voices of parent carers across the county for five years. To mark this special milestone they are holding a series of local events across the county - and everyone is welcome!

It's a fantastic opportunity to meet others, celebrate achievements and find out more about support for parent carers.

The first event takes place in Atherstone tomorrow - Friday 5 June, 11am to 1pm at The Ratcliffe Centre.

New videos supporting neurodivergent parents to support their children

Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), Warwickshire Parent Carer Voice and Coventry Parent Voice have been working together to create a series of videos for our local community.

The aim of these videos is to:

▶️ Improve knowledge, awareness and acceptance of neurodivergence in adulthood.
▶️ Increase awareness of the experience of neurodivergent parent carers when accessing support for their children.
▶️ Improve the relationships between neurodivergent parent carers and professionals
▶️ Create a resource that can support professionals to improve the experience of local neurodivergent parent carers when accessing support for their children.

Do you need to speak to a SEND Advisor?

If so, you can now book a free online appointment with Warwickshire SEND Information, Advice and Support Service for the week beginning the 15th June.

They can provide free, impartial and confidential advice and information direct to:
✅ Young People with SEND aged 16-25
✅ Parents and carers of children with SEND

You can book a free 45-minute consultation (either online or in person, where available) using the dates and times listed below.
