It’s easy to talk about kindness, positivity and acceptance. But it’s how we treat people that really matters. 🤍
This was Kieran last night in Toronto, stepping outside his comfort zone to experience someone else’s breathwork session.
Was he comfortable? Not entirely.
Was it the perfect session? Who gets to decide what perfect is?
Did he enjoy it? Yes.
Would he do it again? Absolutely.
Because there’s always something to learn from trying something different, even when it’s not quite what you’re used to or expected.
Someone at the close of the session summed it up beautifully:
Anyone can follow a recipe. But it’s what you bring to it that makes people want to come back for more.
And at Retreat Sessions we think that applies to almost everything in life.
Two people can share the same profession, passions or beliefs, yet leave others feeling completely differently.
Knowledge, experience and qualifications are wonderful things. But so are kindness, humility and respect. And sometimes it’s those ingredients that make the biggest difference.
It’s something we try to remind myself of in our personal lives, Kieran with his Move2thebeat fclasses and everything that we both try to create with our sessions.
We’re not here to compete, judge or convince anyone that our way is the right or only way.
We’re here to keep learning, share what we love and create spaces where people feel welcome to try something different, exactly as they are, without pressure or judgement.
Because we certainly don’t preach to have everything figured out, and there’s something wonderful about being able to learn from one another without comparison.
Being authentic isn’t about telling people who you are or what you believe. It’s about letting the way you treat others speak for itself. 🤍
And perhaps we’d all be a little happier if we spent less time judging what others are doing and more time being true to ourselves. ♥️🍃
