Gluten free in Rome 🇮🇹

Here are my top three fav meals I ate whilst in Rome…

1. Cimarra 4: gluten free pizza, pasta and gnocchi and everything tasted so so good!

2 and 3. Mama eat lab: I had the lasagne and then we ordered dessert 10/10, incredible!!!

4. Aquila nera: a simple but absolutely delicious penne pasta dish, so cheesy and so so tasty!

Gluten free in Barcelona!!! 🇪🇸

1 and 2. HONEST GREENS: this is a chain with multiple restaurants around Barcelona! They offer an all gf menu apart from serving fresh bread, but you can swap this out for double salad on meals 🥗

I ordered peri peri chicken and also a side of sweet potato fries 🍠

3. PIZZA LOCAL: I ordered the salami pizza and it was 10/10! They offered all of their pizzas gluten free 🍕

4. MY FU***NG RESTAURANT: a dedicated gluten free restaurant serving tapas! The bread was the best gluten free bread I’ve ever tried! We also had steak, pastas Bravas and an aubergine dish! 10/10 🍞

5, 6 and 7. MESSIE PIZZA: another dedicated gluten free restaurant serving pasta, risotto, pizzas and lots of gluten free desserts! My favourite meal from the whole trip! 🍝

8. HARD ROCK CAFE: I ordered a burger off the gluten free kids menu and it was huge! They had a whole gf menu with so much choice! 🍔

9 and 10. LA BROWNERIA: a dedicated gluten free brownie and dessert shop! 🍦

11. ROCAMBOLESC: another dessert shop offering tonnes of gluten free ice cream! 🍨

12. MC DONALDS: of course had to try a gluten free McDonald’s! There was three burgers that could be made coeliac safe, I tried the cheeseburger and it was so good! 🍔

Welcome to all things gluten free!

I was officially diagnosed with coeliac disease at the end of October 2023. I have since been taste testing all things gluten free and I can’t wait to share my favourite finds!

I am a medical student and on a budget so always looking for affordable gf options and variety!

I also love to travel in the holidays and so will be sharing travel tips I’ve learnt and a foodie guide to all the places I’ve visited as a coeliac!
