Nuthatch Retreats are a nature connect organisation set up by mental health and suicide prevention consultant Neil Peters. Using nature to support people’s wellbeing, we create opportunities for people to get outside, spend time in nature and take part in activities such as forest bathing, mindfulness, bird watching and walk and talks.

Neil's had a busy week!😅

🧍‍♂️ Work is very focussed on men's mental health at the moment.

✅For Surrey County Council he hosted Surrey's men's mental health partnership forum, and presented our take on the national Men's Health strategy and how we're engaging stakeholders to contribute to men's mental health project to the Healthy Spelthy Community Partnership Board meeting at Spelthorne Borough Council Borough Council. Had a chance to see another of the fab Men's Pit Stops.

✅Finalising our insight report into men's mental health in LB Merton on behalf of Nuthatch Consultants.

✅Delivered two peer support sessions on behalf of South East London Mind Being Dad programme.

🔥 Led our monthly Men's Campfire Collective with Nuthatch Retreats - we made wooden mallets cut from hazel and cooked supper over the campfire. Good to catch up with the guys.

✅Delivered su***de prevention training with Westminster Insight

✅Helped Bromley Christians Against Poverty with their volunteer safeguarding training and DBS checks.

🧑‍🧒‍🧒Squeezed in a bit of parenting - ice packs and antiseptic wipes were involved!

⚽️ And yes, we did get tickets for Europa Conference League final!

You’re basically a worm-disrupting machine
When you dig soil, rake leaves, or even just walk across grass, you disturb insects and worms. Robins have learned that humans = food getting uncovered. So they follow at a safe distance, waiting to grab anything that appears.
