September marks the 15th anniversary of World Alzheimer’s month.

This year’s theme is ‘The Earlier You Know, The More You Can Do. A Diagnosis Matters.’

It’s a message we stand behind and resonates with many families we support.

Early diagnosis can help you and your loved one access the right support, plan for the future and make informed decisions about their care.

If you have questions about dementia or Alzheimer’s, please get in touch. We can offer guidance and point you towards the right organisations and professionals who can provide the advice you need.

You don’t have to do this alone.

We had a fantastic morning delivering a Love to Move session at the HayesWick PCN Connected Living Café today!

It was great to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the session together. A huge thank you to Hayes Wick PCN for inviting us along and making us feel so welcome.

Love to Move is a fun, seated movement programme designed especially for older people, helping to support mobility, coordination and cognitive function. Just as importantly, the sessions are sociable, engaging and a great opportunity to enjoy moving together in good company.

We thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Connected Living Café and hope to be back again in January!

Are you spending time with an older loved one this Bank Holiday?

Long weekends can be a lovely opportunity to spend more time together. They can also be when we notice small changes that might not be as obvious during a quick phone call or visit.

Perhaps Mum isn't eating as well as she used to, Dad is getting out less often, or everyday tasks seem to be becoming a little more difficult.

These changes don't necessarily mean that someone needs a lot of care. Sometimes, a little extra support can help them continue living safely and independently at home.

If you've noticed something that's made you think your loved one might benefit from some additional support, our team at Home Instead Bromley, Chislehurst and Orpington is here to talk through the options with you.
