⚠️ A red heat-health alert is in place for the South West until Friday, with extreme heat forecast.

Anyone can be affected by hot weather, but older adults, young children, people with long-term health conditions, and those taking some medications are most vulnerable.

Please take extra care in the heat and remember to:

💧 Stay hydrated
☀️ Keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm
🏠 Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in sunny rooms
🧴 Wear sunscreen
🧢 Cover up with suitable clothing, including hats and sunglasses
🤝 Check on vulnerable friends, family and neighbours
❗ Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and what to do - search NHS heatstroke.

The new system ‘GP Triage’ has been going for a week, or rather 4 days due to the Bank Holiday. Its gone well. Patients have been able to quickly get appointments which they are delighted with. A few frustrations reported….. The main thing to remember is the two main different appointment pathways (see below) as it takes you down very different routes. If you already have a diagnosis go the follow-up route. And another tip is that if you go down the new problem pathway and make a mistake or feel it hasn’t asked the right questions, there is a free text box at the end you can add info to.

Our new system goes live today! Instead of clicking on the Askmygp icon, you need to click on the GP Triage icon on the front page of our website. Please remove any old Askmygp apps or bookmarks on your phone or computer. We will add more information to our website today and throughout the week. Please bear with us as we all get used to this system.

New system coming soon!
We will be switching from Ask My GP to a new system called GP Triage on Tuesday 5th May 2026.
This new system should give patients even better access with safety built in. More details to follow and we will update our website. Although there will be more details about the system, one of the key benefits is that you won't need a login. The system will ask for your name, date of birth and gender and proceed from there. So that's a great start!
