Why add PODtox to your service menu?

10% of the population will get Plantar Fasciitis at some point in their lives, which can be notoriously difficult for podiatrists to resolve. Traditional treatment methods often involve patient compliance which as we all know, can lead to uncertain outcomes. PODtox on the other hand offers podiatrists an opportunity to treat this debilitating condition with one simple injection.

Research shows that the use of Botulinum Toxin gives superior outcomes to those who undergo steroid injection due to its ability to allow the affected muscle to heal naturally and rejuvenate, rather than simply reduce pain.

Example of profit your business can expect:

50IU of botulinum toxin = £82

Prescription charge = £20

Saline, LA, Equipment = £20

Total = £122

You charge £499

Treatment time is 30 minutes and profit is £377

(Example only for demonstration purposes. Prices may vary dependent on supplier and location)

Patients are astonished at PODtox and how incredible they feel following treatment.

This is Lyndsey who has suffered for 8 months with Plantar Fasciitis and it affects her every day and stops her being able to walk which is something she very much enjoys.

After just ONE session of PODtox she is extremely happy and says she is 100% cured.

PODtox is revolutionary and should be something offered to all patients to help them finally have a solution to cure painful foot pathologies with one simple injection.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: What is PODtox®?
A: PODtox® is a treatment approach involving the use of botulinum toxin injections within podiatric practice to support the management of a range of lower-limb conditions, delivered in accordance with professional scope and regulatory requirements.

Q: What conditions can PODtox® be used for?
A: In appropriate clinical settings, PODtox® may be used as part of the management of conditions including plantar fasciitis, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), tight gastrocnemius muscles, and Morton’s neuroma.

Q: Is PODtox® supported by evidence?
A: Yes. The PODtox® protocols are informed by clinical research and published studies relating to the medical use of botulinum toxin. Training focuses on evidence-informed practice and current best-practice principles.

Q: What are the potential financial benefits for private practice?
A: Introducing PODtox® may provide an opportunity to diversify services and generate additional revenue within private practice. Actual financial outcomes will vary depending on factors such as pricing structure, patient demand, and practice model.

Q: Do I need to purchase expensive equipment?
A: No. PODtox® does not require specialist or high-cost equipment. Products can be ordered as needed, allowing practitioners to avoid a large initial financial outlay.

Q: How long does the training take?
A: The core PODtox® training is completed over one full day. The course focuses on injection techniques designed to prioritise patient safety, followed by ongoing professional support after training.

Q: Who can enrol on the PODtox® course?
A: The course is open to HCPC-registered podiatrists who hold POM-A annotation or an equivalent ensuring the podiatrist can use Local Anaesthetic and is insured to do so. Delegates must ensure they meet all professional, regulatory, and certified requirements prior to completing your training.

Q: Do I need to be a prescriber?
A: No. You do not need to be a prescriber to undertake and administer PODtox®. All botulinum toxin products are prescription-only medicines, and treatment must be prescribed by an appropriately qualified prescriber but can be administered by the delegate.
A directory of suitably qualified prescribers who may be willing to work with PODtox®-trained practitioners is made available to trainees. However, it remains the responsibility of the trainee to establish and maintain a working relationship with a local prescriber if they do not hold prescribing rights themselves. PODtox® will offer guidance and support where possible but cannot guarantee the availability of a prescriber.
Q: How much does the course cost?
A: The PODtox® course is priced at £999.
This includes:
• A full day of training covering both theory and practical elements
• A comprehensive training manual to retain for future reference
• Tuition from fully qualified and experienced tutors
• Access to the PODtox® prescriber directory
• Ongoing mentorship and professional guidance following course completion

Q: Where do I obtain insurance?
A: PODtox® is generally considered to fall within the scope of practice for HCPC-registered podiatrists with appropriate prescribing arrangements, such as POM-A or equivalent. In many cases, existing professional indemnity insurance may be sufficient.
However, practitioners are advised to confirm cover directly with their own insurance provider, as individual policies may vary. PODtox® is fully covered under a bespoke professional indemnity policy available to PODtox® trained podiatrists who meet the relevant eligibility criteria (PODtox® training certificate). Details of this policy, including how to enquire or apply, will be provided following successful completion of the course. Practitioners remain responsible for ensuring they have appropriate and valid insurance in place before offering treatment.

Q: When is the next training date?
A: Please refer to the booking page for upcoming course availability.

Q: Can I spread the cost of the course?
A: Yes. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place, with the remaining balance payable four weeks prior to your training date, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

Q: How long do treatment effects typically last?
A: The duration of effect can vary depending on the condition being treated, patient-specific factors, and clinical presentation. In many cases, symptom improvement may last several months, and in some cases longer. Expected outcomes should always be discussed with patients as part of the consultation process. A module of the theory is dedicated to this topic.

Q: Can PODtox® resolve plantar fasciitis with a single injection?
A: Botulinum toxin has been explored in clinical research as a potential treatment option for plantar fasciitis. Individual responses vary, and outcomes depend on the underlying cause, severity, and overall patient management plan. PODtox® training emphasises evidence-informed decision-making, realistic outcome discussions, and appropriate patient selection. However many patients benefit greatly from just one treatment.

Q: How long does a PODtox® treatment take to perform?
A: In many cases, PODtox® treatment can be incorporated efficiently into a standard podiatry appointment. Treatment times may vary depending on clinical complexity and individual patient needs.

Q: Who provides PODtox® training?
A: PODtox® is a registered trademark owned by Curacorn® Limited, a company dedicated to advancing safe, evidence-informed injectable practice within podiatry.
Curacorn® is led by podiatrists with over 40 years of combined experience in managing complex and high-risk foot conditions. Training is delivered exclusively to podiatrists, ensuring a profession-specific approach that supports clinical excellence, patient safety, and responsible practice development. PODtox® techniques are now utilised by practitioners in multiple countries worldwide.
