Sometimes more filler isn’t the answer. 💉
This lovely client came to me wanting lip filler. However, during her consultation and assessment, it was clear that there was existing filler migration above the vermilion border as well in the wet boarder
The migrated product had become quite firm and was affecting the natural shape of the lip, causing it to appear inverted and less defined.
After discussing the options available, I explained that I didn’t feel it was appropriate to place more filler into the lips at that stage. Instead, I recommended a saline flush to help break down and soften the migrated filler.
We completed two saline treatment sessions. The first made a significant improvement, but I wasn’t completely satisfied with the result, so we carried out a second treatment. As you can see from the before-and-after photos, removing the migrated filler from the upper lip completely changed the overall appearance and balance of the lips.
Once the tissue had settled and I was happy with the result, we were able to carefully refill the lips using just 1.1ml to create subtle lift, definition, and enhancement while maintaining a natural look.
This client was new to me and had previously been treated elsewhere. Lip filler migration can happen for many reasons and isn’t about blaming another practitioner. Sometimes it’s simply about recognising the issue, correcting it, and helping the client achieve the result they originally wanted.
I will always be honest with my clients. If I don’t feel a treatment is in your best interests, I’ll explain why and recommend an alternative approach. My goal is never to simply add more product it’s to achieve the best, safest, and most natural result possible.
Beautiful lips aren’t about volume alone. They’re about shape, balance, definition, and ensuring the filler is in the right place.
