We design and hand build rotary tattoo machines from our workshop in Surrey, UK. We are small, dedicated team of tattoo artists with over 35 years’ experience in the industry. Rotary Works began in 1997, after Dale, the founder, saw a gap in the market for high quality rotary tattoo machines at affordable prices. In the years since, we have sold thousands of machines to tattoo artists around the w

orld and have a loyal customer base. We pride ourselves in offering unlimited customer support, repairs and services over the lifetime of the machines. This attention to detail is what helps to keep our customers so loyal. All of our machines are custom built to order and are subject to rigorous testing in house, and we are continuing to innovate with regular new designs and options to cater to the ever-changing tattoo industry. Absolutely daft from start to finish loads of familiar faces, loads of new ones and barely enough time to remember what planet I was on. Massive cheers to everyone who queued, trusted me with one of my designs and kept the day such a good laugh.

BIBLICALLY INACCURATE MOTH

Lots of eyes, cool details and just enough wrong with it to make the whole thing work. This is exactly the sort of tattoo I enjoy most taking a couple of familiar ideas, smashing them together and turning them into something darker, stranger and a bit more unsettling and there’s a super high chance you’ll end up with a badass tattoo like this. Huge thanks to Amber for bringing this one to me.

I’ve got space from November for a few bigger custom projects like this, so send us your best mash up ideas. Dark mythology, folklore, animals, armour, insects, weird guys and gals, old world imagery anything with a strong silhouette and enough room for me to properly get stuck into it.

The stranger the combination, the better. I’m especially interested in larger pieces where I can build something properly around the body rather than squeezing an idea into a tiny space.

Not gonna lie I’m not one for religion but they make some cool imagery like this lad with wings launching a spear through a Doom demon. Sick.

Really enjoyed getting stuck into this one. Big custom pieces like this are where I can have a bit more fun with the design and make the whole thing flow with the arm and properly compose it instead of just sticking a picture on it.

Cool one from a little while back to kick off a Japanese sleeve. Built to wrap the forearm with plenty of movement, heavy blacks and a silhouette that reads from every angle.

I never get bored of doing dragons. Every one ends up different, and they’re the sort of tattoo you can really design around the body rather than just sticking a picture on an arm.

One last thing while we’re all melting to f**k. Keep your tattoos, and any skin you’re getting tattooed out of the sun. If you can’t at least whack some SPF on. I don’t want anyone rocking up looking like they’ve spent the last three years getting slow roasted in Benidorm. Nice one. 🙌
