✨ 1st September ✨

Today marks 20 years since I enrolled on my teacher training to become a primary school teacher.

For the first time in 20 years, this September I haven’t started the school year in a primary school teaching job.

This year brings a big change for me, and although there are definitely mixed emotions, it feels quite fitting that this new chapter was kicked off (after a sunny dog walk-picrured) in a primary school in Worcester. 🥰

Instead of teaching a class of children, I was there sharing a Chair Yoga & Wellbeing session with a fantastic group of school staff.

It was such a pleasure to be there, and a lovely reminder that although my role is changing, my passion for supporting schools, staff and wellbeing is still very much at the heart of what I do. 🧘‍♀️💚

Here’s to new chapters, new beginnings and seeing where this next adventure takes me…

20 years on, and the journey continues. ✨

Yoga in the Park cancelled due to weather warning ⚠️ ⛈️ 🌳

Hi everyone,

The Met Office is predicting thunderstorms this evening, along with a high chance of rain. Unfortunately, this means we won’t be able to go ahead with our final Yoga in the Park class of the summer tonight. 🌧️

Our Thursday evening classes will return to Rushwick Primary School Hall next Thursday, 3rd September.

Please remember to book your space at CGYoga.co.uk if you haven’t already.

Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to seeing you soon! 🧘‍♀️

Warmest wishes,
Chrissie x

Yoga in the Park was magical tonight 🧘‍♀️ 🌈

A few moments before class… sitting on my mat, looking up at all those clouds and wondering whether we were actually going to stay dry! ☁️😂

But the beautiful souls who turned up tonight didn’t let a little light drizzle put them off. 💕 We had a light touch of rain, a little bit of cold (what a novelty after all that heat! 🥶😂) and then, halfway through class, the most beautiful rainbow appeared. 🌈

Of course I couldn’t resist taking a little photo 📸✨

Thank you to everyone who came along. There’s something rather magical about practising yoga outdoors 🧘‍♀️🌿💕🌈

See you on the mat next time! X

Right now, with all the news of house fires locally- the 🚨alert 🚨 on our phones last night- this feels so poignant.

This photo just popped up as a ‘memory’ on my phone. It is from June 2020 – just a few days after we lost most of our belongings and home to a house fire. My children were only 2 and 4 at the time, and being strong for them was my only priority. There’s something very difficult about having your safe space taken from you. Navigating it all through Covid made it difficult. No usual avenues of support. No real contact with loved ones. No hotels available. We were so lucky some wonderful friends had an empty house we could camp out in for a few weeks, and then a kind colleague found us a home to rent. Amazing support from the BEST neighbours and friends, family and colleagues got us through.

After that, I struggled deeply with anxiety and had help from medication, counselling , many difficult days. But one thing that really helped me through it all – through the best and the worst – was yoga. It became one of the only times I could truly come out of thinking, and into feeling.

We all know what it’s like to lose something.

To everyone affected by the fires this summer: my heart goes out to you. You will be okay. (And please – everyone reading this- get good home insurance if you can! Dealing with ours was worse than the fire itself. We never thought it would happen to us, and went for the cheapest option.)

And one other really important thing I learned: take kindness from others without guilt. People want to help when you truly need it. Let them.

This is why yoga means so much to me, and why I’m sharing it with anyone who might need space to breathe. Book that class. (It doesn’t have to be yoga!) Take time for you. Connect with your body. Look after your mind and always, remember that we cannot truly be of service to others unless we first look after ourselves 🧘‍♀️

With love,
Chrissie 🤍
