Noticed more hair in your brush since starting Mounjaro?

You're not imagining it and you're not alone.

Weight-loss injections like Mounjaro and Wegovy have been life-changing for many people. But one side effect that often catches people off guard is hair shedding, usually starting a few months in.

Don’t panic! In most cases, this is something called telogen effluvium. It's a temporary type of shedding triggered by rapid weight loss and the big nutritional changes that come with it. The important thing to remember is that it is not permanent. Your body is just pushing more hairs into their "resting and shedding" phase all at once.

The good news is that there are things that can help it recover more quickly and in a healthier way.

Hi Teignmouth! I'm Claire. I'm thrilled to be bringing specialist hair and scalp care to your community.

Trichology is the science of hair and scalp health. Think of it as getting to the root of your hair concerns. Maybe that's unexplained hair loss, a persistently itchy or flaky scalp, thinning hair, conditions like alopecia or cancer treatment.

As a qualified Trichologist and member of the Association of Registered Trichologists, I use specialist scalp analysis to really understand what's going on, and work with you on a personalised plan to address it.

But trichology is only part of what I do. I'm also an award-winning organic hairdresser with over 35 years of experience, 18 of them organic-based.

I was trained in wig cutting by the legendary Trevor Sorbie and have worked with respected brands such as Kevin Murphy and John Masters. I believe passionately that what goes on your hair and scalp matters just as much as what goes in your body.

Let me introduce myself, I’m Claire Gould, a fully qualified Trichologist, now in Teignmouth.

With over 35 years of experience in hair and scalp health, I am a Certified Trichologist holding a Level 4 ITEC Certificate and a member of the Association of Registered Trichologists (ART).
I specialise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, including hair loss, alopecia, AGA, FFA, psoriasis, dandruff, and hair texture concerns. I offer expert, compassionate care, private prescriptions, GP referrals, LLLT, and scalp injections.
