Been a little quiet on the brow insta frontier! I keep forgetting to document alongside tattooing full time 🙃 I'll be better!

Here's a recent fix up I made. My client had previous work applied not by me and wasn't happy with the result. We had an informed consultation and a deep dive into what the problem could be. We discovered that she would needed darker, more shapely and better healed brows to meet her requirements.

After learning her medical history and that she didn't want to have removal first. We decided the right course of action for her and for the best result outcome.

Due to existing medical conditions and medication the capability of my clients skin for pigment retainment is much less capable than usual. All things considered she wanted to still go ahead and I advised upon more frequent visits to counteract the rapid loss of pigment. I also advised upon a warmer pigment addition to alleviate the appearance of the ash tones of the previous work once settled.

I never advise hand tool Microblading to be permanent work. I actually love that is isn't. I love the idea for making something for someone that can mold and change with the styles and times over the years. I usually advise 8-12 months between full sets and 4-8 weeks for top ups after initial work. For my client here I will see her for top up and then full set 6 monthly to retain pigment much better.

Everyone is different. Everyone's skin is different. Everyone's circumstances are different. It all matters and it can all be tailored to YOU. Trust the process and you'll see results. 🫶🏻

Microblading healing after a touch-up:
It’s normal for permanent makeup to fade over time. Therefore, after your initial microblading session, you’ll need regular touch-ups. This will maintain the shape, color, and definition of your brows.

Generally, it’s recommended to get a touch-up every 8 to 12 months. But the best frequency depends on your preferred look.

It also depends on how your skin holds on to the pigment. For some people, the pigment may fade quickly, requiring more frequent touch-ups.
Compared to your first session, a touch-up is essentially the same procedure but on a smaller scale. It’s done on a few areas rather than the whole brow.

You can expect a similar healing process, though some people report shorter healing times after touch-ups.

Everyone is different 💫

After your skin is fully healed, you’ll want to protect your microblading investment by taking care of your skin. Applying a sunscreen to the microbladed area may help prevent fading ☀️ 💖

1 week into the healing process for this lovely client. Looking after her new brows to perfection! Aftercare is key in this two step procedure! Looking forward to our top up session in 3 weeks time 💖✨

Step 1: The initial procedure takes 2-3 hours. During this time, a consultation is undertaken, a color tone chosen and initial outline of the procedure area is drawn on for you to approve. Once you are satisfied with the basic shape and symmetry, (please note that our faces are NOT symmetrical, as one side is flatter than the other – eyebrows are sisters not twins), however as Certified Brow Artists, we aim to create as much symmetry and harmony as possible. The permanent pigment is then applied with a hand-held tool and not a machine.
The end result will depend on 50% pigment and 50% healing. We all heal differently, and what works on one client may not be effective on another. This is why a second visit it so important; it corrects any irregularities in color tones, and makes the look permanent.

Step 2: The second stage of the treatment is called a ‘touch up’ and takes approximately 1.5-2 hours. This is scheduled 6-8 weeks after, as it takes that long for the pigment to settle in the skin. It is IMPERATIVE that you complete the touch up treatment, as without it, it will be a job half done and the results will not be good as expected. The touch up gives the client an opportunity to get used to the initial finish before a final touch up consolidates the pigment into the skin, thus preventing fading. Color will have faded significantly in the first 30 days as the skin heals, peels and close. The look of the brows in the first 10 days will be quite undefined and no indication of the finished result.

Step 3: Occasionally a third visit is necessary for certain clients, 6 weeks later again. This is not uncommon.
