Quiet on the Creek… but Medicaid changes for 2027 are worth paying attention to. 👀

If you have Medicaid—or help someone who does—don’t panic, get informed.

📌 Know your state’s timeline.
📌 Know what counts toward the new requirements.
📌 Know whether an exemption applies to you.
📌 And most importantly: verify your status and respond to every notice.

A notice doesn’t automatically mean you’re losing coverage. Information is power when you know what to do with it.

Stay informed. Stay verified. Stay covered. 💙

Before you pay that medical bill… PAUSE. 👀

Ever received a bill and thought, “Wait… I thought my insurance covered this?”

Your provider’s bill and your EOB may show different amounts—and that doesn’t automatically mean you owe the larger amount.

Before you pay, compare:

✔️ Provider bill
✔️ Your EOB
✔️ Your plan/coverage information

Then ask questions before sending payment.

Insurance claims aren’t always as simple as “insurance didn’t pay, so I owe it.”

💡 Pause. Compare. Question. Then pay.

That medical bill may not tell the whole story. 👀

Before you pay, compare your provider bill, EOB, and plan information.

If the numbers don’t match, ask questions first.

💡 Pause. Compare. Question. Then pay.

Medicaid is changing in 2027—and there’s an important distinction you need to understand: qualifying for Medicaid and verifying your eligibility are not always the same thing.

Certain adults may be subject to a new 80-hour monthly community-engagement requirement, while numerous exemptions will apply.

And here’s the part I really want you to remember: Even if you qualify for an exemption, don’t assume the Medicaid system already knows it.

📌 Keep your contact information updated.
📌 Read every Medicaid notice.
📌 Respond within the required timeframe.
📌 Check your state Medicaid agency for specific instructions.

You may still qualify. The question is: Can the system verify it?

Stay informed. Stay verified. Stay covered. 💙

Medicaid is changing in 2027—and eligibility is only part of the story.

Certain adults may need to meet new work or community-engagement requirements, but many exemptions will apply.

The key: even if you qualify for an exemption, make sure the Medicaid agency can verify it. Read every notice, keep your contact information current, and respond by the deadline.

You may still qualify—but can the system verify it?

Stay informed. Stay verified. Stay covered.

Cigna has confirmed that it will discontinue its Individual & Family medical plans, both on and off the Marketplace, effective January 1, 2027.

If you currently have one of these plans, your 2026 coverage remains in effect through December 31, 2026. You’ll need to select another medical plan for 2027.

And an important distinction: this does not mean all Cigna health plans are ending.

Let’s stick to the facts and start preparing for 2027 Open Enrollment.

Cigna will no longer offer its medical Individual and Family Plans—on or off the Health Insurance Marketplace—for 2027. Current coverage remains in effect through December 31, 2026.

If you are affected, don’t wait until Open Enrollment to begin preparing:

1️⃣ Plan your anticipated care for 2027, including appointments, procedures and medications.

2️⃣ Identify the doctors, facilities and prescriptions that are most important to you.

3️⃣ Compare each plan’s provider network, prescription coverage and total costs—not just the monthly premium.

You do not need to cancel your current coverage. This is the time to gather information so you can make a more informed choice when 2027 plans become available.

Your Health. Your Insurance. Your Power.

Be Intentional: A Health Insurance Affirmation

I understand that receiving a medical bill does not automatically mean my health insurance failed me.
