Dr Dea Nizharadze has been the Chief Medical Officer of the Phage Therapy Center at the Eliava Institute in Tbilisi, Georgia, since 2010. Leading a medical team that treats patients from more than 80 countries every year, she agreed to look back on her journey, on the trust she has seen built over the years, and on her deep conviction: phage therapy is the medicine of tomorrow.

Thirteen years at the head of the Eliava Phage Therapy Center

“I came to the Phage Therapy Center in 2010. So I have been in charge for thirteen years now. That is when the Center took the form it has today,” explains Dr Nizharadze.

The distinction matters. While the Eliava Institute itself has existed since 1923, the Phage Therapy Center — as a dedicated clinical structure designed to welcome both Georgian and international patients — is a contemporary creation, built and stabilised under her medical leadership.

Here we share with you the testimony of Isabelle, 65 years old. Suffering from chronic bronchitis since her childhood, she also contracted the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

As the antibiotics did nothing in both cases, Isabelle inquired and people around her spoke to her about phage therapy, and then about Caucasus Healing.

She has just returned from a treatment stay with us and is already feeling better. Thank you Isabelle for your valuable testimony and for placing your trust in us. We wish you all the best for the future!

Simone, 76 yo, underwent an operation in a French hospital to treat chronic bronchitis which had already lasted for several years. Unfortunately, she developed Staphylococcus aureus following this procedure.

This staphylococcus, treated with antibiotics for more than three years, has never been eradicated. The antibiotics were increasingly ineffective or Simone had to increase the duration of the medication. Which caused other problems and significant side effects.

Simone therefore turned to phage therapy and came to Georgia for treatment. She talks about her experience during the treatment process as well as the benefits she has already observed.

Thank you Simone for trusting us and for your valuable testimony. We wish you all the best to come!

Doctor Mariam Dadiani, working at the Eliava institute with whom we collaborate, gives us here an example of a German patient who totally amazed her.

She also discusses the bad press from which phage therapy can sometimes suffer throughout the world, and calls on global traditional medicine to be more open minded.

Because, when the antibiotics no longer work, people come to save their lives here in Georgia.
