I usually show what I eat to inspire Ghanaians to know It is possible to eat without all the bloat.

I am a registered dietitian but I don’t eat perfect.
I eat every Ghanaian food when I can and I never skip my daily fruits, that’s a ritual I live by.

What changed my gut health was simple daily habit.

1. I stopped skipping meals

2. I stopped eating at night . We give our phones rest at night but we constantly give our bodies work at night by eating late.

3. I stopped fearing our own foods. Our foods work better with our digestive system because our intestinal living micro organisms know them better than imported and ultra processed foods.

You don’t need imported diet to be healthy, You need to be consistent with what works for your body.

If you are always bloated or constipated, tired or heavy after eating, it’s not because Ghanaian food is bad , it’s because the timing and combination is off.

This week, eat better not Evening tea

Imagine this being cultivated commercially in West Africa?

Let’s settle the JOLLOF WAR today! 🇬🇭 🇳🇬

As a dietitian, I don’t care which country has the tastiest Jollof.

All I care about is what your plate looks like.

Your Jollof plate should have more vegetables, adequate protein, less fat and the Jollof rice it’s self

So now, who really has the best Jollof rice ?The one with the balanced plate.

Until we begin to eat more of what grows around us, we will keep chasing what is far and expensive.

This is WEDA fruit native to the Sahel region and sub Saharan Africa . It grows under adverse weather conditions making it a plant that can sustain Africa for the longest.

Beyond the fruit, the leaves and stems also carry great nutrients which can positively affects one’s health and well being.

Have you ever seen or tasted this fruit before ?
