🏠🩺 WHY HOME BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORING MATTERS

Blood pressure can sometimes appear:

🔴 High only at the clinic (referred to as “white coat hypertension”)
Or
🔴 Normal at the clinic but often high at home (referred to as “masked hypertension”)

That’s why home monitoring is important.

✅ Helps detect hypertension early
✅ Tracks how well treatment is working
✅ Supports better long-term blood pressure control

📌 An average home BP of 135/85 mmHg is roughly equal to 140/90 mmHg measured at a clinic.

If your readings stay elevated, speak with a healthcare professional.

A home blood pressure monitor is a smart investment for your health and a meaningful gift for parents and loved ones.

What is a STROKE?

A stroke happens when blood flow to part of the brain is blocked or when a blood vessel in the brain bursts. Without oxygen carried by blood, brain cells begin to die within minutes.

In this post, you’ll learn key warning signs of stroke using the simple and widely used mnemonic B.E. F.A.S.T, adapted from the American Heart Association.

Stroke symptoms usually appear suddenly and progress quickly, so it is crucial to recognize them early and act immediately.

If you or someone around you experiences any of these symptoms, CALL EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES OR GO TO THE NEAREST HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY. Time is brain; the longer someone waits before getting treatment, the more brain cells die. When brain cells are lost, it can lead to long-term problems with movement, thinking, speaking, and overall daily life.

To reduce your risk:
💖 Keep your blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood cholesterol levels within healthy ranges
💚 Adopt a healthy lifestyle — balanced diet, regular physical activity, and stress management
💛 Avoid or limit alcohol intake
🖤 If you smoke, make a plan to quit and stick to it

Early action saves lives.

🌍❤️ WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY 2026

“Controlling Hypertension Together: Check Your Blood Pressure Regularly, Defeat the Silent Killer.”

Hypertension (also known as high blood pressure) affects about 1.4 billion people worldwide and is one of the leading preventable causes of premature death.

It is called the “silent killer” because many people have no symptoms and may not know they are affected until serious complications occur.

The good news? Early detection, regular blood pressure checks, healthy habits, and proper treatment can save lives.

✅ Know your numbers
✅ Check your blood pressure regularly
✅ Encourage your family and community to do the same

A visual guide to how the body handles sugar when there is no diabetes, and in the most common types of diabetes: Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational Diabetes. Swipe through to learn more ➡️

What is diabetes?
Diabetes happens when the body can not use sugar (glucose) properly either because it doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t use it well. This causes sugar to stay in the blood instead of being used for energy. Over time, high blood sugar can damage the heart, eyes, kidneys, nerves, and blood vessels. But, with the right care, support, and lifestyle habits, people living with diabetes can live long, healthy, and active lives.
