On the 4th and 5th June, the Deaf & Dynamic Initiative delivered introductory training in and the Arts at the Ashanti School for the Deaf.
Ghana's Deaf community has always had talent. What they've been missing is access to opportunity, to skills, to spaces that see them fully. Every training we run is a direct bridge across that gap.
The students built basic robotics projects and gained an understanding of online security and cyberbullying. They were also introduced to Chess and built bracelets for themselves. Some of these bracelets are available for sale to support this project and the students.
We're not doing charity. We're correcting a long-overdue imbalance. And we need your support to keep going.
None of this happens without people who believe in the vision.
Heartfelt gratitude to our partners and sponsors Alice TalkWorld, Ed Emporia, Ckode For Change, KNUST Chess Club, SWDA KNUST, and Mary-Ann Abagale, who made this training possible.
To the incredible UNTAMED VOICES team Vincent K. Yovo, Pearl Emefa Sapeh Stephen Aning, Adadey Courage, Ruhiya Suguru Aguri, Hannah Lamisi Ayambire with the incredible leadership of Aba Famous Mawulenu Kwaku at the Untamed Voices Ashanti region, thank you. And to every individual who contributed time, resources, encouragement, or even just a share, thank you.
What's next?
β¦ A STEM Club is being established at Ashanti School for the Deaf, which will serve as a space for continuous learning, exploration, and building.
β¦ We're taking the training North. The Savelugu School for the Deaf is next, and we're showing up with the same energy, the same tools, and the same belief that every Deaf student in Ghana deserves this. Join us, come October, to create and space for the deaf community. Partner, sponsor or provide any other support.
This is community work. And community works when we all move together.
