NUTRITION EDUCATION

In Dagbakorpe community, located in the Akatsi South Municipality, nutrition education focuses on promoting the Four Star Diet, emphasizing staples, legumes, vegetables, and fruits. Infant and young child feeding practices prioritize exclusive breastfeeding, safe complementary feeding, hygiene, and responsive feeding. Food demonstration sessions teach caregivers how to prepare nutritious meals using local ingredients and emphasize the health benefits of diverse foods. Additionally, caregivers are educated on the use of micronutrient powders to supplement essential vitamins and minerals for infants and young children, aiming to improve overall nutritional status and health outcomes in the community.

Basic School has been recognized with a 4-star rating, indicating exemplary efforts in promoting nutrition among students. Aveyiborme Basic School follows closely with a 3-star rating, demonstrating substantial commitment to nutrition initiatives. Agbogbome R.C. Basic School has earned a 3-star rating as well, acknowledging its effective implementation of nutrition programs. Lastly, Lente Yame Basic School has been accredited with a 2-star rating for its efforts in fostering nutrition awareness and practices among students. These designations highlight the Municipality's dedication to enhancing the nutritional well-being of its schoolchildren through structured and effective interventions across these educational institutions.
