Upper West Regional Health Directorate Conducts 2nd Cycle of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention.

The Upper West Regional Health Directorate will conduct the 2nd Cycle of Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) from 22nd to 25th July, 2026 for all eligible children aged 3 to 59 months.

SMC is a proven intervention that helps protect children against malaria during the peak transmission season.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to ensure that all eligible children receive the medicines.

Healthcare workers and Community Health Volunteers will move house-to-house to administer the medicines free of charge.

We therefore appeal to all parents, guardians, and community members to cooperate with them to ensure every eligible child benefits from this lifesaving intervention.
