Last Sunday was filled with excitement, teamwork, energy, and great sportsmanship as Abrafi Women and Children Hospital took on Twimia Nkwanta Youth Association in a friendly football match.

🏥 ABRAFI WOMEN AND CHILDREN HOSPITAL UNDERGOES MAIDEN BONO EAST PEER REVIEW ASSESSMENT

Yesterday, Abrafi Women and Children Hospital, Techiman, successfully participated in its maiden Bono East Regional Health Facilities Peer Review, an initiative by the Regional Health Directorate aimed at strengthening healthcare service delivery, identifying operational challenges, and developing practical recommendations for continuous improvement.

The assessment covered eight key modules, including Environmental Infrastructure, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Emergency Services and Systems, among others. The review also featured the Regional Director's Special Module, which assessed innovations and best practices implemented by the hospital.

The assessment team comprised officials from the Bono East Regional Health Directorate, Kintampo South District Hospital, St. Theresa's Hospital–Nkoranza, Busunya Polyclinic, and the Techiman Municipal Health Directorate. Their review involved examining reports, assessing compliance with health protocols, conducting interviews, and inspecting service delivery processes.

At the end of the assessment, Abrafi Women and Children Hospital recorded an overall score of 70.8%.

The review team commended the hospital's efforts while encouraging Management to address the identified gaps to further enhance quality healthcare delivery and ensure holistic health services for the people of Ghana.

Yesterday, ABRAFI Women and Children Hospital – Techiman held a successful Staff Durbar aimed at discussing some of the challenges confronting the hospital and exploring the way forward towards improved healthcare delivery and workplace efficiency.
The meeting also witnessed the introduction of a new Matron, who will temporarily replace the current Nurse Manager while she is on casual leave. Staff warmly welcomed her and pledged their support and cooperation.
In addition, the current Health Service Administrator of ABRAFI Hospital, Mr. David Kwame Yeboah, has been reassigned to Jema Hospital. A new Hospital Administrator, Mr. Edward Oppong Yeboah, was officially welcomed by the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Fadle Rahman Quantson (OBGYN Specialist).
During his remarks, the outgoing Administrator, Mr. David Kwame Yeboah, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Regional and Municipal Directors, management, and staff for the cordial working relationship and support he enjoyed during his tenure as Administrator. He encouraged staff to continue rallying behind the new Administrator to ensure the continuous progress of healthcare delivery at ABRAFI Women and Children Hospital – Techiman.
Some staff members also took turns to express their sincere gratitude for his dedication, commitment, and contributions to the growth of the facility during his tenure. They wished him well in his new role and prayed for greater success in his future endeavors.
The occasion ended on an emotional note as Mr. David Kwame Yeboah shared farewell handshakes and hugs with staff members to bid them goodbye.

The Abrafi Women and Children's Hospital in collaboration with Samara Group of Companies, producers of Kel toothpaste held a free Oral Health Screening for the People of Techiman at the forecourt of the Omanhene's palace.

This forms part of the activities to mark this year's Apoɔ Festival-2026 by Nananom and the People of Techiman Traditional Area.

The Deputy Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah as part of her Regional Tour visited the Abrafi Women and Children's Hospital-Techiman.
She was Accompanied by the Bono East Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Samson Samani and the Metropolitan Director of Health Services Dr. Kwabena Fosuhene K**i.
The Minister took the time to elaborate the policies put in place by the ministry to strengthen Human Resource and retooling the various District Hospitals, Health Centres etc. She charged staff to be professional in the discharge of their duties by being compassionate towards clients/patients.

Staff were also given the opportunity to interact with the Deputy Minister by asking questions regarding their fields of operations and general welfare of Ghana health Service staff.
