Today, Aworowa Health Centre had the privilege of hosting Mr. Adamu Mohammed the Techiman North District NADMO Coordinator and Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Techiman North District Assembly.

Mr. Adamu took participants through an insightful session on “Communication” and its importance in effective healthcare delivery.

One key quote that stood out was:

“Communication is not just about people, but also about the environment.”

He emphasized that effective communication in healthcare goes beyond interactions between health professionals and patients. The hospital environment, attitude, appearance, atmosphere, signs, and overall setting can significantly influence how messages are received, understood, and responded to.

As healthcare professionals, the way we communicate, both verbally and non-verbally, can build trust, improve patient satisfaction, strengthen teamwork, and ultimately contribute to better health outcomes.

At Aworowa Health Centre, we continue to promote continuous learning, professional development, teamwork, and quality patient-centred care.

SUB DISTRICT UPDATE || TUESDAY 21ST JULY, 2026

AWOROWA SUB-DISTRICT HALF YEAR PERFORMANCE REVIEW MEETING

The Aworowa Sub-District, in collaboration with the District Health Directorate, successfully held its Half Year Performance Review Meeting to assess progress made during the first half of the year, identify challenges, and strategize for improved health service delivery.

The meeting was graced by the District Director of Health Services, the District Disease Control Officer, the District Public Health Nurse, the District Nutrition Officer, and the District Health Promotion Officer, whose valuable contributions enriched discussions and reinforced our shared commitment to delivering quality healthcare.

It was accompanied with financial literacy session by personally for the GCB Bank, Techiman Market Branch.

Together, we remain committed to strengthening our health system and improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

Aworowa Sub-District, in collaboration with the Techiman North District Health Directorate, successfully organized a training session for health staff on the transition from the RTS,S malaria vaccine to the R21 malaria vaccine.

The training was graced by the District Director of Health Services, the District Disease Control Officer, and the District Public Health Nurse, whose presence and guidance enriched the session.

The interactive and informative training brought together nurses, midwives, nutrition officers, health promotion officers, mental health officers, and disease control officers. Participants gained valuable knowledge and practical insights to ensure a smooth and effective implementation of the malaria vaccine switch within the district.

Together, we remain committed to strengthening routine immunization services and protecting our children against malaria through quality healthcare delivery.

INAUGURATION OF THE UNITED MATERNITY BLOCK AT AWOROWA

On Sunday, 7th June 2026, the people of Aworowa witnessed a historic and memorable occasion with the official inauguration of the UNITED MATERNITY BLOCK, a remarkable project generously funded and supported by the Aworowa Community in the Diaspora.

The event brought together a distinguished gathering of political leaders, members of the diaspora community, traditional authorities, health professionals, management representatives from the Ghana Health Service, and heads of the security services in the Bono East Region. Their presence underscored the significance of this milestone and the collective commitment to improving healthcare delivery within the community.

The commissioning ceremony was marked by expressions of gratitude, goodwill messages, and pledges of support from various stakeholders who recognized the importance of sustaining and enhancing healthcare services in the area. Several individuals and organizations also made donations and commitments towards the continued development of health services at the facility.

The United Maternity Block represents more than just a building; it is a symbol of unity, compassion, and community development. The facility is expected to significantly improve maternal and child healthcare services by providing a safer, more conducive environment for antenatal care, delivery services, postnatal care, and emergency maternal interventions.

With improved access to quality maternity care, the facility will help reduce maternal and newborn complications, promote safe deliveries, and contribute to better health outcomes for women and children in Aworowa and surrounding communities. It also demonstrates the positive impact that diaspora contributions can make in transforming lives and strengthening local healthcare systems.

Aworowa Sub-District successfully held its Annual Performance Review today, bringing together key health facilities within the sub-district to assess progress, share experiences, and strengthen strategies for improved healthcare delivery.

The review covered the performance and achievements of Aworowa Health Centre, Ayeasu CHPS, Fitiri CHPS, Akrofrom CHPS, Kokroko CHPS, and Kokoago CHPS. Discussions focused on service delivery outcomes, challenges encountered, best practices, and priority actions to enhance quality healthcare for communities.

TAKING CERVICAL CANCER AWARENESS TO THE PEOPLE

The Health Promotion Unit and the Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) Unit of the Aworowa Health Centre carried out an extensive cervical cancer awareness outreach to educate and sensitize the community on prevention, early detection, and the importance of screening.

The team engaged individuals across multiple community settings, including markets, gari factories, CHPS compounds, hairdressers’ association meetings, mosques, churches, Child Welfare Clinic (CWC) sessions, and the Outpatient Department (OPD). Through face-to-face interactions and group discussions, community members were informed about risk factors, symptoms, prevention methods, and where to access screening services.

This outreach reinforced the message that cervical cancer is preventable and treatable when detected early, while promoting positive health-seeking behavior and community ownership of women’s health.
