The Upper West Regional Health Directorate is calling on all parents and caregivers to support this important campaign and ensure that eligible girls receive the HPV vaccine.

Who is eligible?
All girls aged 9–14 years are eligible to receive the HPV vaccine.

The vaccine is safe and effective.

RDHS MONITORS YELLOW FEVER REACTIVE VACCINATION CAMPAIGN IN WA WEST DISTRICT.

The Upper West Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Josephat A. Nyuzaghl, together with the Deputy Director of Public Health, Dr. Collins Boateng Danquah, on 16th October 2026, monitored the ongoing Yellow Fever Reactive Vaccination Campaign in the Wa West District.

The monitoring exercise took the team to the following communities: Ga, Gadi, Tanvaare, Bamkpama, Wechau and the District Health Directorate. They visited vaccination teams to assess progress, ensure adherence to vaccination protocols and identify challenges requiring attention.

The exercise forms part of the Regional Health Directorate’s efforts to strengthen supervision and ensure the effective implementation of the vaccination campaign to protect residents against Yellow Fever.

The Upper West Regional Health Directorate remains committed to safeguarding the health of all residents through effective vaccination, surveillance and public health interventions.

RDHS MONITORS YELLOW FEVER REACTIVE VACCINATION CAMPAIGN IN SISSALA WEST AND SISSALA EAST DISTRICTS.

The Upper West Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Josephat Nyuzaghl, together with the Deputy Director of Public Health, Dr. Collins Boateng Danquah, on 15th October 2026, conducted monitoring and supervision of the ongoing Yellow Fever Reactive Vaccination Campaign in the Sissala West and Sissala East Districts.

During the exercise, the team visited the District Directors of Health Services and their respective teams in both districts to discuss the progress of the campaign and assess its implementation. The team also visited some vaccination teams in the field including the Fulani communities, to monitor vaccination activities and assess efforts to reach eligible populations.

The monitoring exercise is aimed at assessing the progress of the campaign, ensuring adherence to vaccination protocols, identifying operational challenges and strengthening the effective delivery of vaccination services to eligible populations to help prevent the spread of Yellow Fever.

The Upper West Regional Health Directorate remains committed to ensuring the successful implementation of the campaign through effective monitoring, supervision and collaboration with district health management teams to protect the health of communities across the region.

YELLOW FEVER REACTIVE VACCINATION CAMPAIGN

The Upper West Regional Health Directorate has successfully completed the training of vaccinators ahead of the Yellow Fever Reactive Vaccination Campaign, which begins tomorrow, 14th October and runs until 18th October 2026.

Who is eligible?

All eligible persons aged 9 months to 60 years are to be vaccinated during the campaign.

Target Districts:

* Sissala East District
* Sissala West District
* Wa West District

The Directorate urges all eligible persons in these districts to participate in the campaign and get vaccinated to help protect themselves and their communities against Yellow Fever.

Let’s work together to stop Yellow Fever through vaccination!
