📍 Zebilla | September 3, 2026

A Trainer of Trainers (ToT) session on the Free Primary Health Care (FPHC) programme is currently underway at the Bawku West District Health Directorate’s Conference Hall in Zebilla.

Launched in April 2026 to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the FPHC programme focuses on prevention, early detection, health promotion, and bringing quality healthcare closer to communities.

The training, organized by the District Health Directorate, brings together Public Health Nurses, Midwives, and key technical officers to strengthen their capacity for effective implementation of the programme.

Training of Supervisors and Mentors on Labour Room Real-Time

Today, 26th August 2026, six midwives from Bawku West District participated in a one-day training to serve as mentors and supervisors for the Labour Room Real-Time initiative.

The training, organized by the Regional Health Directorate with support from UNICEF, focused on equipping selected midwives with the knowledge and skills to routinely update and support the use of the Labour Room Real-Time Digital Platform.

The platform was developed to facilitate continuous monitoring of labour and improve the quality of maternal and newborn care in health facilities across the region.

We wish our six midwives a successful mentoring and supervisory role as they support the improvement of maternal and newborn care in Bawku West District.
