Chuando Tan, a fashion photographer and model from Singapore, sent social media into a frenzy when he shared a photo celebrating his 60th birthday. People could not believe he was 60 because he looked like he was still in his 30s, with smooth skin, a full head of hair, and a fit physique. He has been called the "real life Dorian Gray" and the "youngest-looking grandpa."
Tan first went viral back in 2017 when people discovered his real age, and the fascination has never died down. He now has over 2 million followers on Instagram who are constantly amazed by his appearance.
So what is his secret? Tan credits his youthful look to a strict and disciplined lifestyle that he has maintained for decades, along with good genetics. He says his appearance is about 70 percent diet and 30 percent exercise, and he has always believed that "you are what you eat."
His diet is clean and consistent. He typically eats six eggs, along with oatmeal, avocado, berries, and honey for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, he sticks to grilled or steamed chicken or fish with rice and vegetables. He avoids alcohol, smoking, coffee, sugary drinks, and processed foods.
Tan also maintains a regular fitness routine, working out three to five times a week with a mix of strength training, cardio, and swimming. He makes sure to get eight hours of sleep, goes to bed before 11 p.m., and avoids eating five to six hours before sleeping. He also believes that a positive mindset is essential for healthy aging.
Despite the admiration, Tan keeps it real. He has admitted that he dyes his hair to hide the grey and that staying energetic at 60 takes more effort than it used to. He also said that he is just "an old man who exercises and takes care of himself."
Has there ever been a moment when you saw someone's age and did not believe it until you saw proof?
