Wellbeing Wednesday lunch 🥗
Quinoa, avocado, chickpea, tomato,cucumber, tomato@and red onion salad.

👆Add 1 cup of Quinoa
🥑 1 whole mashed with 1 tablespoon of natural yoghurt
🍅 1 cup cherry tomatoes
🥒 and red 🧅finely sliced
Half a cup of chickpeas
🌿🪴add dill, parsley and coriander

This should make plenty and you can eat half and save the rest for the next day. Use the rest of the avaicado to make extra guacamole!

In addition to assisting proper nerve and muscle function, electrolytes are needed to balance the acidity of the blood. They are also a necessary component in repairing damaged tissues. Electrolyte imbalance leads to lack of energy, ill health and may be an indication of an underlying medical condition.

The main types of electrolytes are Sodium, calcium, potassium, chloride, phosphate, and magnesium and you get them from the foods you eat and the fluids you drink but these can be lost when we sweat excessively.

Make sure you are getting enough. Here are some healthy drinks rich in Electrolytes:

Tracking your blood sugar and lifestyle habits can help you achieve stable blood sugar. 😃😃

Here are some foods to keep these levels stable which can lead to the following positive benefits:

Studies have shown that a high-glycemic load diet is associated with fatigue and higher depression symptoms—especially in overweight/obese, but otherwise healthy adults.

⭐️Improved focus

Glucose is a type of sugar, which the brain depends on for fuel. Dips in blood stugar can have a negative impact on attention, memory, and learning.

It’s National Fitness Day so let’s celebrate by looking at the advantages of weight training using body weight or equipment such as resistance bands.

1. Increased muscle mass: Muscle mass naturally decreases with age, but strength training can help to reverse this.

2. Creates stronger bones: Strength training increases bone density and reduces the risk of fractures. It can help joints stay flexible and can reduce the symptoms of arthiritis.

3. The risk for osteoporosis and osteopenia—low bone density that's not yet in the osteoporosis range—is higher in women because female bones typically are smaller and less dense than male bones. Weight training can reduce this risk.

Not only this but weight training can:

⭐️Reduce waist line
⭐️Can help you appear leaner.
⭐️Can improve your blood sugar
⭐️Aids a healthy heart

Delightful book with guidong principles that show you how to make wiser decisions, keep your brain active and have happy, healthy thoughts amongst other things.There are 100 rules in total and you can choose the ones that you feel would be most useful. A great read to dip in and out of.

Welcome Summer ☀️😎

I’ve been a quite busy recently, hence little social media content but I’m back now and want to focus on having a happy and healthy Summer!

Here are my top tips for staying healthy and surviving the school holidays

☀️🕶🔆🔆first up sun Sunlight is an excellent source of vitamin D, and people need a small amount of sun exposure every day but too much can cause problems and skin damage so best to aim for at least a factor 50!!!

💧Keep hydrated 2 litres or 8 glasses a day and if you are exercising then you need to increase this by approx 1ml for every kcal.

🆒 Try to stay 😎 cool. Anyone experiencing heat exhaustion must stop and rest, shelter out of the sun and in a cool place, and drink plenty of water or sports
Heatstroke occurs when body temperature rises above 104ºF, and the body can no longer cool itself. 🥵

⚖️🙇‍♀️Manage expectations. It’s great seeing lots of snaps of people on instagram enjoying a lovely time with their families but don’t be fooled - there is no such thing as perfect life... 🚸Children and families in general can be hard work especially when we spend a lot of family time together (remember lockdown - how can we forget?) and this can cause strain and arguments. It’s perfectly normal and the chances are most other people are experiencing the same thing - trust me I do😌KEEP CALM and carry on as they say!! That’s what I TRY to do... or take some time out for yourself if you can 🧘‍♀️

🏞 Lastly, where possible, spend as much time outdoors as you know I am a fan! So many benefits...

✅ Exercise

✅ Improves mood

✅ Reduces anxiety, improves sleep and immunity.

They all play a role in how you experience happiness.

In order to maximise these neurotransmitters and hormones, it takes is a few simple tasks and basic planning!

Happy Wellbeing Wednesday

What you need to make a ☀️breakfast on 🌧

🥭2 large mangoes (peeled, chopped & frozen)
1 x cup coconut milk
1 x cup natural greek yoghurt
2 teaspoons honey
1 frozen banana

👩‍🍳Here’s how to make it:

👨‍🍳Whiz the the mango, frozen banana, milk, yoghurt and the honey until smooth and creamy.

🥣pour the smoothie into two separate bowls.

🔝with chopped fruit and berries and pack a protein punch with chia seeds or other nuts such as almonds.

☺️ enjoy your sunshine bowl!
