Over the past few years, a hawk has made a home on our roof. While sitting upstairs, I noticed this curious item on the floor by my feet. I thought it was a hairball or a dustbunny. In fact, it was a posed rat that had been picked clean and thrown from the roof.

Turns out that when uou give a hawk the freedom to use your home as their own, they thank you with an offering. I like to think of it as a Hawk Tithe, a gift to us for being so welcoming.

Mockups with my work always make me smile....not just because its a point of pride to imagine my work in a new context.

Of course, normal people want to see their work in a luxury loft or high end restaurant....but i have never been that guy. I am drawn more to bathroom mockups with my work right above the loo.

I always say, the highest honor a collector can give me is by hanging my work in a surprising spot so that it can be discovered....especially in a private moment where the viewer isn't worried about laughing out liloud or sighing audibly.

It just makes me giggle...and where else is there a captive audience hoping to pass the time staring at something that beautiful and therefore ironic ?
