On July 31st, we were delighted to welcome two new children into our Enquan Yuan family! Qisheng, 15, and Qianyi, 16, have been surrounded by love and care as they settle in, and our staff will create targeted therapy and educational goals to help them grow and thrive in ICC's care. We first welcomed Huanmeng into our Enquan Yuan family in August 2023. Since then, it has been a joy to watch her grow and thrive. This video was taken during her special education class, and Huanmeng approaches each lesson with determination and joy. When she first entered our care, she struggled with her hand-grasping ability, but through targeted therapy, support and Huanmeng's dedication, she can now hold a spoon and feed herself! We are so proud of her.

Today, we celebrate International Youth Day! This year's theme is "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," which "recognizes that while young people’s lives are shaped by different national and local realities, their aspirations are remarkably similar. Across countries and communities, young people seek dignity, opportunity, meaningful participation, decent work, quality education, and a sustainable future."

Recently, our Outreach Team #3 visited Jinrui and his family. Jinrui is starting second grade this coming Autumn, so the team brought him some stationary supplies for school, including notebooks, pencils, a sketchbook, and colored pencils. He was overjoyed when he saw the teachers bring the stationery set, quickly walking up to them and exclaiming, "Wow, you brought me so many gifts!" During the summer break, he had five booklets of printed assignments, which he completed with his grandmother's company. Our team remarked on the significant changes they observed in him, noting improvements in his initiative regarding communication and social interaction, as well as greater emotional stability. We are excited to continue supporting Jinrui and his family as he begins a new school year this autumn!

Yezhen, who has a visual impairment, joined our ICC family when she was eight years old. Today, she is thriving at her local special education school and enjoys singing in her spare time. In a heartfelt Mother’s Day letter to her caregiver, “Mama Wu,” Yezhen shared that her love is “steady and enduring, like a gentle stream that never runs dry,” and that she has never felt a lack of warmth or belonging. Shengsheng is a beloved member of our FPP program who lives in the remote countryside of Hunan Province with his family. He has a rare disease that has affected his muscle growth and strength, impacting his mobility. A talented artist, Shengsheng expresses himself through digital drawings. We wanted to share some of his beautiful artwork with you here.

The first piece is titled "The Countryside Under the Sunset ." Shengsheng shared, "Under the glow of the sunset, the blue sky seemed even deeper and more beautiful. When I feel unhappy, looking at the vast sky makes me feel that it can embrace everything."

The second piece is titled, "The Young Rooster." It was inspired by a group of young chickens raised by Shengsheng's grandmother. Shengsheng shared, "The circle of yellow feathers around its neck makes it stand out from the others, along with its bright red comb...Because of the unique yellow feathers around its neck, it looks very different from the other black chickens. It is such a noticeable and special little character — both adorable and heartbreaking because of its gentle personality. "

The third piece is titled, "The Female Goose." Shengsheng described, "When it is happy, it sings “ga, ga, ga” together with the male goose... The goose is not only beautiful but also helps guard the home, so I like it very much. I think it is so cute, and I recorded it through my drawings."
