‼️ Béla Bicsérdy in Budapest ‼️
Exactly 100 years ago today, Béla Bicsérdy disembarked at the Petőfi Square boat station in Budapest. His arrival was a huge sensation, he was greeted with a reception comparable to that of famous monarchs or movie stars. In addition to the excited crowd of hundreds, domestic and foreign journalists jostled for position, stepping on each other’s heels, to catch a glimpse of the then-world-famous lifestyle reformer. It was at this time that the only (short) film footage of him known to date was made, which even made it into the "Hungarian Newsreel" of the era. It can still be viewed today, link in the comments.
