The quote "Worship the Father by night, worship the Mother by day" is derived from the Essene Gospel of Peace, a text published in the 1920s by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely, who claimed to have translated it from ancient Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts.
In these teachings, spiritual life is presented as a harmonious relationship between the Heavenly Father (representing the spirit, cosmic consciousness, and the divine law) and the Earthly Mother (representing nature, the physical body, and the material world). The practice centers on communing with the Heavenly Father and His angels by night to nourish the soul, while honoring the Earthly Mother and her elemental angels (like air, water, and sunshine) by day to maintain physical health and purity.
