Meet Harriet, our Director of Policy. 👋

Not every part of your care happens in a consulting room. Some of it sits in the standards, records and processes that keep a clinic running properly.

That is Harriet's work. Making sure what we do is consistent, documented and in line with the regulations we operate under.

You may never meet her during treatment. But the care you receive is shaped by the detail she keeps an eye on.

It is a quieter part of the clinic, and one we think is worth knowing about.

Fertility conversations often arrive with a lot of noise attached. Timelines, opinions, other people's stories.

Yours is not anybody else's. Health, circumstances, relationships and readiness all sit differently for each person.

That is why we start with you rather than a general rule. At a consultation, your consultant looks at your own history and any investigations you have had, and talks through what your options may look like from here.

There are no decisions to make on the day. Just clearer ground to stand on.

In simple terms, it means collecting eggs and storing them so they may be available for use in treatment at a later stage.

Some people consider it because of where life is right now. For others there is a medical reason, or simply a wish for more time to decide.

What it could mean for you depends on your own health and history, and that varies from person to person.

Freezing is one stage. Storage is everything that comes after it.

Cryostorage simply means keeping frozen eggs or embryos in our laboratory until you are ready to use them.

In practice, that involves:

Labelling and checking, so nothing is ever identified by memory alone
Monitoring the conditions inside the storage tanks
A written storage agreement with you, and consent that is reviewed rather than assumed

All of it operates under HPRA regulation and the EU Tissue and Cells Directive, alongside Irish clinical governance standards.

Meet June, our Practice Manager and Fertility Nurse Manager. 👋

June holds two roles that sit at the centre of how the clinic runs. One keeps the day to day moving, the other leads our nursing team.

For most patients, the nursing team is who you see and speak to most. The people who explain your medication, fit an appointment around your work, and answer the phone when you are not quite sure who to ask.

Fertility treatment can be emotionally challenging, and support is available through the clinic at every stage.

Once eggs or embryos leave the treatment room, they are in the hands of the embryology team. Sameer leads that work.

It is careful, methodical and largely unseen. Labelling, checking, monitoring, and the record keeping that sits behind all of it.

Most patients never meet this part of the clinic. But if you have anything in storage with us, this is where it is looked after, long after your appointment has ended. 🤍
