Behind every successful GAA club is someone who quietly gives their time, energy and heart to others. Today, we're delighted to recognise one of those people.

👏 Congratulations to Philip McKiernan of Louisburgh GAA & LGFA our July Mayo GAA Community Champion.

For Philip, one recent week included coordinating the Club Development Draw, managing club finances, progressing submissions and tenders for a CLÁR grant project, supporting club maintenance works, liaising with Mayo County Council and helping to progress the club's gym development project.

All of that alongside his own work and the additional contribution he makes within his community.

Much of the work that keeps our GAA clubs running happens quietly behind the scenes, carried out by volunteers who simply see something that needs to be done and get on with doing it.

The Mayo GAA Community Champion Award exists to shine a light on volunteers like Philip and recognise just how important their contribution is to the strength of our clubs.

Congratulations Philip, and thank you for everything you do for the GAA and your community.

Movember Ahead of the Game monthly prize winners for March were St Pats GAA Blennerville, Co. Kerry 👏🏻

St Pats were delighted to host a youth mental health workshop ‘Movember Ahead of the Game’ in March. Fiona Costello, healthy clubs officer told us “We were delighted to have Martin Stackpoole & Conor Bohane run these youth & adult workshops. Their personal inspiring background & sporting achievements made them excellent mentors.

Our under 14 /15 boys had a great session with thought provoking conversation & education on early detection & talking through mental health difficulties before they escalate. The adult’s session was well attended & very informative on how we can support our youth community’s mental health”

Our official number plate sign 26 MO SAM will only be for sale at €5 each inside Hastings Insurance MacHale Park tonight with proceeds going to the Mayo players training fund. We would ask our legions of loyal supporters to only purchase our official signs. 🔴🟢

Purchases of unofficial merchandise has no benefit to Mayo GAA or our players.

We are running a FREE inclusive Rounders session together with Mayo Sports Partnership on Saturday July 18th from 12 to 1pm.
Learn a new skill, meet new people but MOST importantly...have fun.
This session will be run by our National Development Officer Mark Jennings who will be there guiding all participants on the fundamentals of rounders and ensuring everyone taking part has a great time enjoying learning all about GAA Rounders.
