Hannah Bowler One to One, Workshops & Retreats

It’s so easy to get caught in the trap of caring more about how things look than how they actually feel. Seeking counsel is valuable, we all have blind spots, but that’s different from living for the outside world.

The real growth is catching ourselves in the moment and asking:
How do I feel about this?

Not what others might think. Not how it appears.

Just the truth inside.

In the beginning, everything feels rosy, we see what we want to see, and we keep our masks on.

But after a year or two, the cracks start to show. This is the phase where true intimacy begins: when we let ourselves be seen, when conflict shows up, when the uncomfortable parts of us surface.

It’s hard work, but this is where the gold is. If we meet it, a deeper, more honest relationship can grow from here.

If you and your partner want to explore relational skills, Seán and I are hosting our online Couples Club on Sunday, 4th January, plus we have a special Couples Retreat this February.

Most of us were never taught how to navigate conflict, keep the spark alive, or deepen emotional intimacy in a relationship. This isn't the kind of learning we do in school, and modern love desires that relationships today meet a multitude of needs that weren't so much the done thing for past generations. So many couples are left feeling their way through it on their own. And yet, there are tools, skills, and insights that can truly strengthen connection and help build a solid foundation for your relationship.

Seán and I have been running Love in Action in retreat and workshop format over the past year and the feedback is always about how essential it is to have the time to connect, and how invaluable it is to learn skills for better communication, or what areas of the relationship need tending to.

For a year now we've been talking about doing something more consistent online, so in 2026 we plan to hold Couples Club, a monthly online space for couples to connect and learn - starts January 4th, 6pm ❤️

Nervous system tools are amazing, but sometimes regulation is way more simple than we think. It’s in the micro moments.

How fast are you going?

How intensely do you move?

Do you brush your teeth like you’re fighting for your life?

We’re all going to mess up in our relationships, that’s human. What matters most isn’t perfection, it’s repair.

Being able to recognise when we’ve gotten it wrong, own it, apologise, and make real change is one of the most powerful relational skills we can develop. And it takes practice. It asks us to meet the parts of ourselves that resist being wrong and soften anyway.

If you and your partner want to explore skills like these, Seán and I are hosting our online Couples Club on Sunday, 4th January, plus we have a special Couples Retreat this February.
