Safety vs Aliveness
Life isn’t always easy. I believe it’s a continuous search for balance — between doing what is needed to feel safe and doing what makes you feel alive.
At the moment, I am doing a little bit of coaching but I have been working fultime for the last few months in another job. I wasn’t earning enough before, so I decided to take on this temporary role to build up some savings. As it turns out, the job is actually very interesting and I do enjoy it. But lately, I’ve noticed that when I have time off, I feel more tired, irritable, and less inspired than before.
I don’t have much energy left for coaching, personal growth, or mindfulness practice, and I can feel my inner fire slowly starting to fade. Even though it’s not a bad job at all, and I feel more secure because of the money, I know deep down that something needs to change.
The other day, while in the shower, I had a thought about positive thinking — how sometimes we use it to avoid making changes. We remind ourselves of all the good things we have so that we don’t have to take action and can stay in our comfort zone.
As someone with a sensitive system, my body and mind have always sent me clear messages about where I need to be — or not. But I just never listened. I had to learn that I can trust them. They push me in the right direction, but they also ask me to be brave: to follow my passions and my desire to do meaningful work. Because everything else, no matter how good it looks on the outside, feels like a waste of time.
To truly feel alive, we need to find the courage to listen — to our body’s signals, our intuition, the little whispers telling us something isn’t right — and then take action.
Do you recognise this? Do you feel tired, like your spark is fading or you’re just surviving? Do you long for a life that feels purposeful, fulfilling, and truly alive, but don’t know how to move forward?
As a life coach, I can support you in this. Together, we can discover what’s missing for you, uncover what you truly desire, and work through fears and limiting beliefs so you can start taking empowered action.
I’d love to hear from you — and we can arrange a free clarity call.
