Thank you to for a community workshop collaboration with Dublin Herb Bike, where we made up batches of Fire Tonic (Fire Cider) for our clinic outside the GPO on the third Thursday of every month. It’s a daily tonic that gives the body a little lift, supporting the immune system and aiding digestion are just some of its benefits. We made three different batches, one with Hawthorn flower and Limeflower for a healthy heart and a calm mind, Thyme for those upper respiratory tract infections, particularly useful in this wet humid weather, and finally, elderberry, which supports the immune system in the early stages of colds and flus. Participants chopped and grated ingredients and sampled one that had been prepared earlier, and went home with the knowledge to make their own.
