This is a practice developed by Susan Kidd who is a Reiki Master Teacher & Holistic Healing Practitioner based in Enfield, Co. Reiki is an ancient non-intrusive complementary therapy where the practitioner channels energy from a higher source through them and into the client. This energy will automatically travel to the point of greatest need first and works at all levels: Body, Mind and Spirit an

d can heal issues in the Past, Present and Future. It enhances the body’s own natural ability to heal itself on all levels restoring balance and harmony, providing deep relaxation and bringing a sense of peace and well-being. Your Reiki treatment begins with a short chat and the filling out of a simple consultation form. This gives an idea of how you are feeling and what areas to work on. I will explain and demonstrate the different hand positions which will be used during the healing session. Lying on a treatment table or sitting on a chair with relaxing music playing, I will start working at your head and slowly work down your body stopping at different energy points called chakras. During this time I channel energy which flows through my hands and into your body and aura always going to the place of greatest need first. Everything is done on a purely energetic level there is no physical manipulation whatsoever. Reiki reawakens the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It is an extremely relaxing experience, reducing stress and leaving the client calm yet energised. A Reiki treatment is usually one hour in duration, young children and animals will require a shorter session normally about half an hour. A single session is very beneficial however some people will require further sessions once a week for a while to achieve more profound healing for longstanding conditions. Reiki will compliment and enhance medical treatments but is never intended as a substitute for medical care. Susan is a fully insured member of the Reiki Federation of Ireland. RAFFLE NEWS!

34 amazing people have bought tickets for our Back to School Raffle, and we are so grateful for their kindness! We have 60,000 + followers, if a few more would support the raffle, we might just get through this fodder crisis!

The horses, ponies, donkey, goats and sheep are going through the hay we had to buy this week at top speed! They are used to having the late summer grass, but with the prolonged dry spell, no grass has grown for weeks, so they are hungry! We will have to rest the fields now for at least three weeks, to let the new growth come through, so we'll be ordering more hay tomorrow to keep them going until the grass is ready.

We are now expecting that we will need twice our original target amount, so please, please, please, keep buying tickets! You will find the link in the comments.

And please share to everyone you know. This unexpected expense has played havoc with our (limited) budget, so any help with this is so, so welcome.

The goats are happy! They love hay!

Don't forget to buy tickets for our Back to School Raffle! We will post the link in comments below, as posting it in the body of the post does not seem to be reaching many people.

Our first delivery of hay for our rescue horses, ponies, donkey, sheep and goats arrives today - more than two months earlier than usual, as there is no grass left in our fields due to lack of rain. We got very excited yesterday when a few drops fell, but sadly, that's all it was. . . a few drops.

We'll be moaning about the wet and mud in a few weeks time, no doubt, but we are deeply worried that we will be feeding hay for 8 or 9 months this year, instead of the usual 5 or 6. You can see from the photo just how bare of grass our fields are - this goat is hopeful that we'll fill the bucket with feed!
