Myself (Lloyd) and Ana have taken the plunge and bought a boat in Greece,
We plan to explore and get used to the boat in this area and then see where the wind takes us! Follow us through the adventures of Sailing Vessel Ambrym.

M's first camping trip!

The weather wasn't the best and we had to cut it short, but she enjoyed it and we did too, she's a natural, at only 4 months old!
We even tried the canoe! (Spoiler, she didn't like the life jacket)

Of course the fantastic company helped, we are so happy to keep working on traditions, even when they have to be adapted to the new times!!

We missed some usual faces this year but we were happy for some new ones...!

I can't believe it's already 3 months of you.

How did we exist before your giggles, your exploring eyes, your daily changes and discoveries?

How was life before constant feeding, short night sleeps, poo explosions? There was a time when errands weren't welcome by a big smile to melt for... I think. I can't remember.

So many lives inside one... but we are really loving this one.

As you might know, while we are based in Ireland, rather than onboard our beloved Ambrym, we are never far from the water. Lloyd's job has always been around boats, and for quite some time now, he has been focused on teaching and training.
So we present you his new company SeaSpark ()

> Training courses for boat owners and users (Basic Marine Diesel Engine Course, Basic Outboard Course, Basic Marine Electrics Course...). Specifically designed to help boat users understand their system, perform basic maintenance and be more self-sufficient on board.
> Own-boat tuition. Getting a new boat can be overwhelming, and it's not always easy to understand all the installed systems (engine, electrics, batteries, solar, instruments...)
> Diagnosis and repair of electrics and engines
> Consultant. As a specialist in electrical propulsion system, Lloyd can help you choosing the best options for your boat.

The courses can be booked individually, but also organised in sailing clubs, marinas, training schools, etc.

Our first hike together!

We have been out for short walks at every chance the weather has given us, but yesterday we went for our first proper hike and the 4 of us enjoyed every minute of it!

Spring is here and you can smell, hear and see it at every corner, I love that feeling!

We are getting a lot of questions (and compliments) about the name Mara.

We wanted a name easy to say and write in both our languages, and also one that would make her life easy in all the future adventures to come.

Mara is getting popular in Spain, still not being everywhere, without any particular meaning there.

We loved the sound of it, that it's short, simple, easy...

and that it means Sea in Irish.

We didn't share much of our 2025. We took less big adventures and trips, although it was a fantastic year and we enjoyed every minute of it.

But here is our real reason for it. We were packing, adjusting the sails, and getting ready for the biggest adventure of all.
2026 has started the best way possible: our new tiny crew member is here!

Welcome to the world little Mara. We can't promise this adventure called life will always be easy, smooth or perfect (if anything, we can promise it won't!). But we promise we will try our best to make it exciting, inspiring, full, crazy, adventurous, magic, spectacular.

With the summer definitely gone it's time for a recap of these last months.

Almost no sailing this season. But water? Always!!

Lots of canoeing in Ireland. On our own, but mostly with friends. We have enjoyed so much bringing friends and family that haven't done it before, or expert paddlers (now with their kids!), groups of friends... From friends that were scared of the cold april waters, to summer days with stops for a dip in the river. From Ana's niece to Lloyd's dad. River, lake, marshland...

One of the highlights was definitely getting the key for the locks!!! After many years paddling along the Barrow river, finally being able to operate and transit the locks has fascinated everyone!

We love being in the canoes, the slow pace, the connection with nature, the active but relaxed sport, and mostly... everybody's big smiles!!!!
