A great resource for the women
Of kerry

🏥 A major investment in women’s healthcare in Kerry

I was delighted to join Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill in Tralee today for the official opening of the new Women’s Health Hub.

This purpose built facility represents an investment of more than €8 million and brings a wide range of specialist services together under one roof, helping women receive earlier, more coordinated care closer to home.

The Hub will provide services including maternity care, women’s health physiotherapy, perinatal mental health support, colposcopy, gynaecology and bereavement support.

This is a very welcome and important development for women and families throughout Kerry. I want to thank all the dedicated staff who have worked to make the Hub a reality and who will provide care and support there in the years ahead.

Support is key

💛 21 years ago my journey started and it had plenty speedbumps on the way -

💙 what made me keep going ??

✅support firstly family and my best friends@who were both feeding Deirdre Teahan and Ruth O'Donovan who is now supporting moms in New Zealand

✅ attending a breastfeeding group every Monday

✅ knowledge- knowing breastmilk is best for my baby

✅ a holisitic GP and friend- I blessed now and then with my colleagues .

✅ I did combine feed after 6 weeks due to weight issues and supply but I was still breastfeeding.

✅ PHNs, support groups, GP practises and Lactation consultants are there for advice and support
