I used to think the work was about getting calmer. A more regulated nervous system with fewer triggers..
But Ive come to realise over time that it’s more about how I ride the waves. Because the waves still come. I’m just less thrown by them.
I went for a sauna with friends today and I was nervous before it. I sat in the car beforehand and decided that if I got to the door and didn’t want to go in, that was okay. I gave myself permission. Then I did a bit of Reiki to settle my nerves.
I went in. Not only was I fine, I had an amazing time. I’m lucky - I’ve good people around me who get me, and we had lovely chats. It did me the world of good.
That’s mostly where I sit with Reiki too - not making the waves disappear, just finding a bit more ease in the middle of them. Not always easy but EASIER
