**What if movement could become part of your clinical toolkit?**

Therapy doesn’t always have to happen through words alone.

For some clients, movement can create a different pathway into regulation, body awareness, emotional expression, and resilience.

Boxing Therapy brings intentional movement into the therapeutic process—combining evidence-informed clinical practice with boxing-based techniques to help clients engage with their nervous system in a new way.

It’s not about being a boxer.
It’s not about fitness.
And it’s not about teaching clients to fight.

It’s about giving therapists another tool to meet clients where they are—and helping clients experience change not only cognitively, but physically and emotionally.

🥊 Meet Hadas & Boxing Therapy Tel Aviv!

We’re excited to introduce Hadas Glazer, Boxing Therapy Coach, and our new collaboration with Nakash Boxing Gym in Tel Aviv!

Hadas has completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, is a trained Boxing Therapy Coach and fitness/boxing trainer, and is about to begin her degree in Sports Psychology.

Together, we’re launching our first Tel Aviv pilot: a small, trauma-sensitive boxing program for soldiers experiencing the effects of trauma/PTSD and looking for a physical outlet for regulation and emotional expression outside of traditional therapy.

This pilot is also the beginning of something bigger — Boxing Therapy Tel Aviv, with more groups, programs, and opportunities to come. 🥊

We’re so excited to have Hadas leading the way with us!

Can someone participate in Boxing Therapy if they have physical limitations?

Boxing Therapy is adaptable to you - All mobility abilities, fitness levels, injury history, or physical limitations are welcomed! Our therapists are client-centered and will adapt the modality to meet your body where it is.

Depression, fatigue, and other psychosomatic symptoms.
When you’re feeling depressed, totally fatigued, have chronic pain, or struggle with dissociation we use small amounts of intentional movement to connect with your body. Boxing Therapy can use short, manageable periods of movement to gently help your body reconnect with its energy and build tolerance for physical activation, without pushing beyond what feels manageable.

For concussions, injuries, chronic pain and post-surgery recovery:
With the guidance and clearance from your medical doctor, our therapists can modify any movement to accommodate your body’s needs. This could look like eliminating or minimizing impact, focusing on kicks instead of punches, working from a seated or supported position, or using completely different exercises to achieve similar therapeutic goals.

For Parkinson’s and MS:
Some of our therapists have work with the Parkinson’s and MS communities, known diseases which benefit from boxing-based movement as part of their wellness and symptom-management practices. Boxing Therapy extends care from just the physical management of disease to the emotional processing of that experience.

For dyspraxia and other neurodivergent physical challenges:
Boxing Therapy can be especially helpful for developing body awareness, not just emotional self awareness.
Many neurodivergent people experience challenges with proprioception, coordination, motor planning, or sensing their body in space. Boxing Therapy provides opportunities to practice these skills in an engaging, structured, and supportive way.

✨Why Bilateral Stimulation Belongs in the Therapy Room

As our understanding of the brain and nervous system continues to evolve, more therapists are incorporating bilateral stimulation into their clinical practice—and for good reason.

Bilateral stimulation is the rhythmic engagement of the left and right sides of the body to support nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and integration.

Research suggests that rhythmic left-right movement can help regulate the nervous system, making it easier to stay present, think clearly, and process difficult experiences. As the body shifts out of survival mode, clients are better able to move beyond intellectual understanding and begin integrating change on both a cognitive and physiological level.

Many clinicians are already familiar with bilateral stimulation through EMDR, where it is used with alternating eye movements, taps, or auditory tones. It also appears in approaches such as Brainspotting, and we naturally experience bilateral movement during activities like walking.

At Boxing Therapy, we intentionally incorporate bilateral stimulation through rhythmic combinations such as the jab-cross, while clients practice emotional regulation, process experiences, and strengthen new patterns of responding. Rather than movement being separate from therapy, it becomes an integral part of the therapeutic process.

🥊 Interested in learning how to integrate Boxing Therapy into your own clinical practice? Join our upcoming Boxing Therapy Certification Training and discover how movement, neuroscience, and trauma-informed care can transform the therapeutic experience.

🥊 What to expect at a Boxing Therapy session as a Tzevet Mikey participant

Boxing Therapy is first and foremost a client centered approach, that means that all of our therapist are trained in adapting the Boxing Therapy modality to best suit your needs.

So your session could look a few different ways. Maybe you’re someone who needs a session heavily focused on boxing skills to give your body the opportunity to let go, to express, to feel your nervous system activate, cool down and regulate.

Maybe your session will integrate talking and boxing as you process your story and speak in between boxing drills that allow for hormonal flushing and bilateral stimulation in the brain.

You could also find yourself needing a full session to focus on speaking and telling your story. In this case you are invited to do so knowing that we are still integrating the body to also be a part of the conversation.

Your Boxing Therapy skills might be focused in grounding and regulation without a focus on fighting.

No matter what kind of session you’re in need of as a Tzevet Mikey participant and lone soldier getting ready to draft, Boxing Therapy is here to support your individual needs.

🥊 Meet the Team: Teresa

At Boxing Therapy, our team brings together diverse clinical backgrounds, specialized training, and a shared belief that healing happens through both the mind and the body.

Today, we're highlighting Teresa, one of our Boxing Therapists and a registered social worker from Hong Kong, whose passion for movement-based therapy helps clients access growth, resilience, and healing in a unique and powerful way.

**Why I Became a Boxing Therapist**

"As a registered social worker, I noticed that talk therapy alone isn't always enough to release stored stress and mental fatigue. I became a boxing therapist to merge counseling with dynamic movement, helping people bypass overthinking and release deep emotional blocks directly through the body. It gives clients a powerful, embodied way to step out of burnout and reconnect with their inner strength."

Teresa's approach reflects one of the core principles of Boxing Therapy: sometimes healing isn't about finding more words - it's about creating experiences that allow the body and mind to work together toward lasting change.

We're grateful to have Teresa as part of our team and for the compassion, expertise, and energy she brings to every session.
